John Imbrogno
Our wellbeing team is growing! This term we welcome John Imbrogno to our school to work with small groups of children to support their social and emotional learning. Head over to school bytes to learn more and sign the note for your child to work with John.
Coffee Mornings
Our coffee mornings are running again this term. Each even week Zoe (school child pysch) and myself are out the front to chat and have a cuppa. Drop in and say g'day. We can just generally chat about life or if you have specific question regarding your child's wellbeing, we are here for that too!
School Photos - Permission to Publish
Our School Photographer has informed us that if any child does not have permission to publish then they will not include them in the school photos. This includes individual, class, group and whole school photos.
Therefore, if you have not yet signed your child's permission to publish note in School bytes, please head over and find it under the "Forms" tab. If you do not give permission to publish the school will contact you for written authorisation to include your child in the school photographs.
Parent / Teacher Communication
As always, if you have any reasons to communicate throughout the term, feel free to send an email or call the school to make an appointment with your class teacher.
Teaching is a unique profession that involves work inside and outside of school. Our school prioritises staff time for planning, delivering, and reviewing our learning sequences to offer the best education in all areas, for our children. With this in mind, we have been advised by the Department of Education to set expectations regarding email communication outside of work hours. Our working hours are 8:30am-3:30pm, on the days we work. Moving forward, we will only be replying to emails within these hours, within 2 school days (as per Department of Education policy).
We know that parents and carers play a crucial role in supporting children as learners and we value the collaboration that we have with our community. Therefore, if you have urgent information, please call the school to discuss with your classroom teacher.
Sport
Basketball
We wish our school basketball team all the best in their PSSA Basketball game on Thursday at The Cav. They were lucky enough to have a coaching session with Brett today to get them ready for both defence and offence.
Soccer
A massive thanks to Ms Perin and Ms Stanton for selecting this years PSSA boys soccer team. The competition was tight and the team was incredibly hard to pick! We look forward to the games on Friday 24 May at Bangalow soccer fields.
School Athletics Carnival
Our school athletics carnival will be held on Tuesday 4 June at school. Parents and extended family are welcome to attend the event. We will start with our track events and then jump into our field events after lunch. This is the precursor to the VoSS Athletics Carnival which will be held on Thursday 25 July.
Parent Teacher Meetings
As part of our ongoing feedback to parents regarding their child's learning, we will be holding our Parent Teacher Meetings in Week 5 and/or 6. All the booking information will come out in Week 3 (next week).
Winter Festival
The Winter festival is heating up! How can you help? Jump on the facebook page and share it with your friends and family, encourage families to attend, send any donations or sponsors our way or drop into the P & C meeting on Friday to find out more!
