Plattsburg Public School Newsletter

February 2026, Term 1 Week 4

A Message from the Principal

Dear Plattsburg PS Community

What a fantastic start to the year we’ve had at Plattsburg Public School. It’s been wonderful to see students settling into routines so well and showing a strong application to learning, being focused in class, having a go, and taking pride in their work. We’re proud of the positive way students have begun the year and we look forward to building on this momentum.

Being at school every day, and arriving on time, makes a real difference. When students arrive punctually, they start the day calmly, connect with their teacher and classmates, and are ready to learn from the very first lesson. Thank you for your support in helping students be at school on time and ready to learn each day.

Our Breakfast Club runs daily from 8:30am–8:50am. This is a wonderful opportunity for students to start the day with food in their stomachs and energy in their brains, helping them concentrate, regulate emotions, and stay engaged in learning throughout the morning. Please remind students to grab breakfast as soon as they arrive, so they have enough time to eat before heading to class and can start learning feeling settled and ready.

Our OOSH (Outside of School Hours Care) started on Monday, and it’s been great to see students settling in and enjoying the program. OOSH provides a safe, welcoming environment where students can build friendships, take part in engaging activities, and transition smoothly between home and school routines. We’re pleased to be able to offer this support for families. If you have any questions about OOSH, please contact the school office.

Parent–Teacher Meetings will be held in Week 9. These meetings are a great opportunity to connect, celebrate progress, and discuss how we can continue working together to support your child’s learning and wellbeing. More details about booking times will be shared closer to the date, and we encourage all families to take part.

Thank you for your ongoing support, together we’re setting students up for a successful year.

In The Classroom

Lunchtime Fun In The Library

Our students have been thoroughly enjoying their time in the library during lunch!

It has been wonderful to see so many children choosing to spend their break playing games, reading, colouring, and spending quality time with friends in a calm and welcoming environment.

The library provides a relaxed space where students can unwind, explore their love of books, challenge themselves with board games, or express their creativity through colouring activities. It’s fantastic to see students engaging so positively and respectfully in this shared space.

Our library is open to all students.

It’s a wonderful way to recharge during the school day while building friendships and fostering a love of reading.

We look forward to seeing even more students join us!
