NSW Teacher’s Federation Meeting
On Monday 28th October, The NSW Teachers’ Federation will be calling a meeting of its members from 8.30am-10am. A message was sent out on our school app yesterday (24/10) with the details. Although there will be some minor variation of routine, all students are expected to arrive at their normal time and attend as they would on any other school day.
Childhood Anxiety Seminar for parents of K-6
WWS organised a seminar for parents in K-6 on Childhood Anxiety on the 21st October 2024.
There was a high level of interest for this seminar with many families in attendance. Parents received information on the symptoms and various types of anxiety experienced by primary students.
They were offered practical advice on developing plans to assist students in managing their anxious thoughts, as well as being provided with resources and avenues for help if further support was required. We will be providing 2 further seminars to support our community. These seminars will take place on the 2nd of December 2024.
Small Steps Transition to High School - 4.15pm to 5.15pm. This workshop is aimed at parents of students moving into the high school setting.
Small Steps Separation Anxiety - 5.45pm to 7.00pm. This workshop is aimed at parents of students transitioning to Kindergarten from pre-school.
Both workshops are open to all our parents regardless of the year of schooling their children are in. Further information regarding registration for these sessions will be provided in future communications.
High School Information Session
On Monday 17th October WWS hosted the 3 Principal’s from BWSC. The session provided passionately presented, comprehensive details about the structure of the campus, daily procedures and the recent academic success the school has achieved. Further opportunities exist for families to visit either campus to improve their understanding of what the school has to offer.
Tree Work
Many of you have seen the tree work taking place around the school over the last fortnight. Thank you all for your patience in negotiation some of the areas that were cordoned off. The purpose of the work is to remove dead timber and potential hazards from our surrounding trees. For those concerned, the ‘Fairy Tree’ has been given a clean bill of health!
Grandparents’ Day
One of our favourite annual school events is approaching – Grandparents’ Day on Friday, November 8th. We are very much looking forward to seeing lots of grandparents there on the day.
Kindergarten 2025
We are nearing the start of Ready for School Program for Kindergarten 2025. This commences next Tuesday 29th October.
If you know of anyone who lives locally with kindergarten age children for 2025, please don’t hesitate to invite them along or recommend our school as a fantastic place to be!
