Welcome Back
I would like to welcome everyone back for Term 4. The term will be a busy one, especially for our Year 6 students as they complete their time at Winston Hills Public School and prepare for the move to high school.
Over the next two weeks, I have had to take some unexpected leave. During this time, Mrs Coates will be relieving Principal and Mrs Frame will be relieving Deputy Principal.
Reading Parent Information Night
A parent information night on reading will be held on Wednesday 29 October, commencing at 6:30pm in the Hall. The session will run for approximately one hour (please note date change from the Term 4 Calendar).
The evening will provide parents with an understanding of reading instructions taught at WHPS, aligned with the NSW English Syllabus and current evidence-based practices that support student learning.
If you would like to attend, please complete the online form that was sent of Schoolbytes.
ACTIVATE Program
This term, the school will be trialling a mentor program that supports social and emotional development of students. ACTIVATE program is designed to help students build confidence, regulate their emotions and strengthen relationships with others. In the coming days, a number of students will be selected to take part in this program.
Winston Hills Public School Sporting Stars
During the last week of Term 4, we had our largest number of students represent Castle Hill Zone at the Sydney West Area Athletics Championship. After a very successful day, we have a number of students who have progressed to the State Championships, which will be held this week. We would like to wish all of the best of luck to: Theo Foggo, Nadia Gasparini, Sam McInerney, Miles Hamilton-Foster, Nate Appleyard, Tayem Reading, Lucas Baird, Hugo Seitz, Max Arkins and Charlotte Arkins.
A big thank you to Mr Freney, Mrs Lorenz and Ms Johnston for their organisation.
Classes for 2026
The school is about to start the planning process for next year. An important part of the process is determining the numbers that we have in each grade. If you are intending on leaving the school at the end of this year (except Year 6 students), please contact the school so that we can adjust our numbers.
If you are taking an extended holiday at the start of the year, please send an email to the school so that your child can be included in the class formation process.
Kind Donation
I would like to thank the Karabi Seniors Knitting Group for their kind donation of Poppies for our Remembrance Day commemoration. The group has spent many hours knitting these poppies to share with the school and to remember the sacrifice made by those who have served.
