Principal's Message - Kim Fraser

We have hit the ground running!

We are incredibly appreciative of the positive feedback from parents regarding how happy and engaged their children are, there is a definite positive vibe and calmness around the school even with the heat we have been experiencing!

Student leaders are on their way to developing their leadership skills with our Student Councillors running their first assembly last week, they did a superb job. Other leaders have already taken on several challenges with enthusiasm and positive engagement. We think we have a few next Prime Ministers!

All parent/teacher meetings have occurred and again staff have received positive feedback. We are certainly aware that some of the times are difficult for parents to attend due to work commitments however teachers will ensure you receive the class package for your reference. We encourage all parents to contact their child’s teacher at any time if you have any questions or queries.

Due to the extreme weather predicted for this Sunday, the P & C have decided to move the Picnic to Friday after school/evening 23 February. The P & C will provide more details soon to all parents.

All Western Australian public schools are reviewed every three years by the Department of Education’s Public School Accountability directorate. Our next School Review is on the 24 April week 2 where a Review team will visit the school and meet to discuss our school with a variety of people – staff, students, Board members, P & C, Community members.  A review gives assurance to the local community, the Minister for Education and Training and the Director General that a school is operating effectively and delivering high quality education to its students. The review acknowledges the achievements of the school and gives feedback to support the principal and staff with their improvement planning.

We provide the review team with a self-assessment of the school’s performance based on evidence gathered by the principal and staff. Information validated by the review team is considered before and during the school visit. This forms the basis for the school review report. The report is provided to the principal, the chair of the school board/council and the Regional Executive Director.

We are currently working with staff on our Review assessment along with the School Board. We will provide the community with outcomes as we go and the final review report.
