Term 2 Week 1 and Week 2 - 22nd April - 1st May 2026

Principal's Blog

Welcome to Term 2 Week 1 2026!

Make My Day

This week I had four proud Kindergarten students visit to show off their writing. Duke, Isabella, Flynn and Benjamin from KF wrote sentences using a work bank provided by Mrs Faulkner. Great job kids, you are using spacing and punctuation!

Breakfast Club

We are thrilled to announce a very successful start to our Breakfast Club! Thanks to the generous sponsorship from Foodbank, providing fresh and delicious food items, and the kind donation from P&C, which helped us purchase utensils, plates, and cutlery, our Breakfast Club is off to a fantastic beginning.

We are grateful for this incredible support that helps us ensure every student starts their day nourished and ready to learn. Thank you to Foodbank and P&C for making this possible!

Initially the Breakfast Club will be operating 3 days a week, Monday, Thursday and Friday from 8.30 – 9.00 under the K-2 COLA. For further information please contact the school office on 49711838.

Choralfest

This week Mrs Nebaurer will accompanying our school choir to Choralfest. Every year our students are commended on their performances. Good luck and we look forward to hearing about your performance.

 Anzac Day

On Friday, our students were honoured to welcome John Baxter and the Central Coast Commemorative Guard for our Anzac Day service. John and his team brought a powerful sense of gallantry with their impressive uniforms, flags, and rifles. We also extend our sincere thanks to all the students and staff who participated in Saturday morning’s march, paying respect to those who have served Australia in past and ongoing conflicts.

Our class 1/2S is a wonderful team where everyone works together to create a happy and supportive environment. We encourage and help one another, always using kind words and showing respect. We work hard to complete our tasks and step in to help when our classmates are not sure. If you come into our classroom you will hear words like, “does anybody need help?”, “I can help you” and “well done, I love your work”. Our classroom is inclusive, thoughtful and caring, a place where everyone feels valued and supported.

Parent Survey

In Term 2, we are inviting parents and carers to participate in the NSW Public Schools Parent Survey. The survey gives you the opportunity to share your experience at our school, including communication, inclusion, wellbeing and how your child’s learning is supported.

Hearing directly from our parents and carers will help us understand what’s working well and where improvements can be made. Participation in the survey is optional, your responses are anonymous, and it takes around 10 to 15 minutes to complete. You can access at the survey at https://surveyme.education.nsw.gov.au/sc/fHqIWVCsg4suBij6-C8JxA2

Further information about the NPSS Parent Survey is available at https://education.nsw.gov.au/npss.

HOLIDAY REFURBISHMENTS

We’ve been busy over the holidays getting our school ready for an exciting Term 2!

All classrooms across the school have now been refreshed with brand new carpet, creating comfortable and welcoming learning spaces for our students. The two demountable classrooms next to the Stage 3 block have also been removed, opening up a beautiful new green space alongside our tree area. This will be perfect for play, relaxation, and outdoor learning.

You’ll also notice additional garden beds around the school, helping to enhance our environment and create more opportunities for students to connect with nature.

Environmental Group

Learning and Support

Throughout the term, classroom teachers gather a range of student data to identify those who may benefit from additional support. This includes teacher observations, classwork samples, assessment results, and parent concerns. Using this information, we can build a clear picture of each child’s strengths and areas for growth.

Students identified for support will participate in small group lessons or individual learning with a Learning Support teacher or an SLSO, depending on their academic needs, learning style, and even their personal preferences. We can then provide targeted, supportive instruction that helps every student feel confident and capable in their learning.

The Learning Support team (which consists of Mrs Chensee, Mrs Searles and Mrs Corbett) work closely with classroom teachers to ensure a consistent and collaborative approach, so strategies used in support sessions are reinforced in the classroom, helping students make meaningful progress toward their goals.

Band

Welcome back to a busy term 2! It has been wonderful to have students return to music making straight after the holiday break. Senior band will aim to perform the national anthem and the school song at each Friday assembly from week 2 this term however, this is always weather dependent.

Tutors are back on their regular days from week 2 and I plan to have band camp information soon. The camp will be late term 3 at this stage in preparation for Bandfest in term 4.
