On Monday the Special Ministries group organised a "Do it for Dolly Day" fundraiser. Students were asked to wear a blue item and donate a gold coin towards the Dolly's Dream Foundation. Every dollar raised goes towards their vital anti-bullying and support programs that empower kids, parents, and communities to stand up to bullying and its devastating effects.
Your support raises awareness and vital funds for Dolly’s Dream, helping to prevent other families from experiencing the devastation that bullying causes – and support them if it does.
So thank you to everyone that wore blue and donated to this very important cause!!
On Tuesday the students were lucky to have a visit from members from the West Perth Falcons Football Club. The members ran a football session for students from Pre-Primary to Year 6 teachers them all the basic skills needed to play footy. They students had a fantastic time and would love to thanks Reidy and his team for their time and patience during their sessions. We hope they can come and visit us all again soon!!
Thank you to all the parents, carers and family members that showed up today for our end of term assembly. Thank you to everyone for the effort they have made this term. It has been a very busy start to the year with lots of events making the term fly by!!
Thank you to anyone and everyone that has stepped up in any way big or small throughout the term to help out. whether it's helping out at carnivals, organising raffles, working in the uniform shop, cooking for a catering event, volunteering to go on the school camp, or cooking a snag......we appreciate it all!! School's like ours can't run without the help and support of their families and we at St Mary's are so fortunate to have a community that are willing to lend a hand whenever we need you.
We wish you all a safe and happy Easter and may you all have a restful break and come back ready and raring to go for what is looking to be just as busy term two!!
I gave my handyman a to-do list, but he only did jobs 1, 3, and 5. Turns out he only does odd jobs.
God Bless
Mr Hamersley
We’ve had an incredibly busy and rewarding term in Kindy! From learning how to line up for the toilet to beginning to write our names, every moment has been a valuable part of our learning journey.
This term, we’ve been exploring the theme of identity—learning more about who we are, recognising our differences, and celebrating the things we have in common. We’ve talked about the unique makeup of our families, understanding that every family looks a little different. We also explored our wider school community, taking a tour and meeting the people who help make our school a special place.
Most importantly, we’ve focused on building our classroom family—learning how to work together to create a happy, safe, and supportive environment for everyone.
The progress the Kindy children have made since those very first weeks has been remarkable. This was especially clear at today’s school assembly, where they joined the rest of the school with confidence and curiosity. Their behaviour was exemplary, and we couldn’t be prouder.
I hope all the children—and their teachers—enjoy a well-earned, restful break, ready to return for another exciting and inspiring term ahead.
