Term 3 - Week 10 (26th September, 2025)

Dear St Mary's School Community,

Focus Value: : Sportsmanship

We play fairly for the enjoyment of all and encourage each other to do our best.

Holiday Time

Yay for holidays!

I trust you all have a relaxing upcoming break. If you are travelling to exotic places or just staying home enjoying family time, I extend my best wishes to all.

Assembly

It was wonderful to see so many family members at the assembly this morning. Congratulations once again to the teachers for all the good work that has been going on in the Year One classrooms. The students were magnificent!

Professional Development Day

Don't forget that the first day back is a Staff Development Day for staff, therefore there will be no school for students. School will resume for Kindy to Year Six students on Tuesday the 14th of October. The first Pre-Kindy session will be on Friday the 17th of October.

End of Term Three & School Fete

It’s been a busy term as always. I would like to commend the Staff of St Mary’s on the commitment they give to our students on a daily basis. I would also like to extend my thanks to our busy group of parents who have been working hard on preparing the St Mary’s School Fete. If you haven’t already put it in your diary, it’s Saturday 18 October, see you there!

Harvey School Review

As we had a Principal from another school complete our School Review earlier this year, I will be on the School Review panel for St Anne’s, Harvey. This school review will take place on the 3-5 November.

Mrs Crees

Special thanks again to Mrs Crees for the HUGE amount of time spent collating the Championship points to identify the record holders. Great work Mrs Crees!

Year Five/Six Senior Centre Visit

The year 5/6 class had a great time visiting the senior center on Thursday 25th September.

We were able to take their drink orders and helped to serve morning tea. It was really lovely to sit and share a chat or a game while the seniors were happy to have us there.

Some of us shared our digital learning portfolios or read our recent poems we wrote in class. Some of the seniors enjoyed a game of Uno No Mercy, a challenging version of original Uno.

We showed off some juggling skills, shared our recent presentations on a country, found out where some of the seniors came from - as far away as England and Croatia! Clancy and Georgia played some tunes on the piano, magic tricks were shared with lots of laughter and a promise for new tricks next time we visit.

We think it's a great experience to share these visits and the seniors really enjoyed having the students there with all their smiles and enthusiasm.
