Intensive Swimming
We apologise for the delay in finishing the last 2 sessions of the intensive swimming program. Last week, due staff sickness we couldn’t staff the program. Hopefully we will finish the program next week.
Blue Gum Classroom
Finally, the newly renovated Blue Gum demountable is now being used. The bathroom area is still not finished and so the students are sharing the Acacia bathroom.
Expression of interest
An Expression of interest (EOI) has been advertised internally in the Department of Education for a full time School Administrative Officer. Kim Bowers who was the permanent person in the position has resigned, as she has decided to change careers a couple of years ago. The advertisement closed on Wednesday 7th June. Culling for the position was on Tuesday 13th June and interviews are today, Friday 16th June.
Assistant Principal Curriculum and Instruction
Last year we were given a one day a week Assistant Principal Curriculum and Instruction (AP C&I) position. We advertised the vacant position but didn’t get any applicants who made it to interviews. Since then, Melissa has been acting on higher duties one day week AP C&I. The AP C&I position has been advertised again. The advertisement closed on Wednesday 14th June. Culling and interviews will be in the next 2 weeks.
Wellbeing Week
Week 8 (this week) of each term is wellbeing week at Havenlee. Each term there is a different theme. This week’s theme is “winter wonderland”. Each day during the week we have class challenges with prizes for the winning class. Monday’s challenge was writing the lyrics of “Let it Go” (from Frozen- without looking them up). Tuesday each class had to make a marshmallow snowman scene (see photos), Wednesday, a “happy feet” dance challenge and Friday is a “winter themed quiz”. Each Friday of the wellbeing week the staff have a dress up day. Today it is pyjama day.
