Over the past couple of weeks, our school community has engaged deeply in activities that celebrate culture, learning, and wellbeing. We observed National Sorry Day with meaningful reflections, and our students created thoughtful class videos that have been shared on social media, expressing their understanding of this important day and ways we can all move forward together.
National Reconciliation Week has been a prominent feature in classrooms across the school, fostering awareness and respect for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander histories and cultures. It has been inspiring to see our students engage so respectfully and thoughtfully. This year's theme of All In for Reconciliation is a call for all Australians to commit wholeheartedly to reconciliation every single day as it is everyone's responsibility.
We also had a fantastic Jump Off Day, with all students participating enthusiastically and some staff joining in as well. Together, we raised over $200 for the Heart Foundation – a wonderful community effort. Well done to everyone involved!
In academic news, our class Spelling Bee was a great success, showcasing the talents of many eager spellers. Looking ahead, we are excited about upcoming events including the Multicultural Public Speaking Competition, a whole school music incursion, the Maths Olympiad, and the final EPS Spelling Bee. These activities offer fantastic opportunities for our students to challenge themselves and shine.
Teachers are currently working hard on Semester 1 reports, which will be sent home later this term. Please remember to book your Parent/Teacher Conference via Sentral to discuss your child’s progress.
The P&C have an exciting event coming up, the launch of the mural on our canteen building. There will be a BBQ and a movie. We hope to see our school community there! See poster below for more information.
Thank you for your continued support in making our school a vibrant and inclusive place for all.
