Parent/Teacher Interviews

Parent/Teacher Interviews from Prep to year 10 will be held on Monday and Tuesday of next week. Please remember to make a booking by contacting Mrs Romaso-Daimol or coming into the office. Kindy interviews will be on Monday, 11th September. Student folios will be sent home next Friday so parents can see some of the assessment tasks that their child has completed this term.

We kindly ask that parents are on time for their interview as often the schedule is tight. If you are late, you may miss your time-slot or have a shortened interview. Please either return your child's folio to school prior to the interview or bring it with you when you attend.

Sport

A reminder that there will be our last round of Saturday morning games on tomorrow morning from 8.30-9.30am. Students will need to wear appropriate clothing, including their joggers, in order to participate (no thongs allowed). Students in Prep-year 6 should also have a hat. All students are encouraged to bring a water bottle. If it is raining, the activities will be cancelled. Parents are asked to visit the LIS Facebook page for updates. Next Monday will be the last afternoon for Tee-ball and Volleyball.

Absences

A reminder that if your child is absent, please email your child's teacher or text/phone Mrs Romaso-Daimol in the office.

Kind regards,

Ms Cathy Langusch

VIP Champion!

From the Deputy Principal (STM)

Our Work Ready Trainees are completing their 6th week of the program. This week we welcomed one of our past Work Ready Trainees, Mayble Reba from HRBP, to come and speak with our trainees about her journey as a Lihirian from the Work Ready Program into employment. The trainees found Mayble’s presentation very motivating.

We are completing preparations for our DWU Lecturers to come to site to deliver the Bachelor of Primary Education Upgrade and the Master of Educational Leadership and look forward to welcoming them during the September school holidays.

National exam remedial lessons at STMC and after school remedial lessons are continuing for Grade 8 and 10 students. Please note this Saturday will be their final Saturday for this term and then they will move onto the holiday program. These lessons are of great importance as the students prepare for their exams at the start of next term.

Our FODE students continue to work hard as they prepare for the end of year exams.

Regards,

Mr Kevin Collins
