Camp Australia - Before and After School care

Earlier this term our OSCH provider, Camp Australia, received a surprise visit from the Regional Manager and NSW General Manager. They spent time reviewing the service which included every day set up, cleanliness, documents and student engagement. The overall feedback was excellent! They loved our school set up in the spacious Hall, the overall running of the Camp Australia service and our amazing students at Beaudesert State School. They particularly noticed the school culture and how close Camp Australia and our school team work together to bring the best care and safety for our students.  The General Manager made note on how well behaved, well-mannered and respectful the Beaudesert students were. This is an amazing reflection on our school community and how we work together to best support our students. During the Easter holidays our school students and the Camp Australia team were highly praised for excellent behaviour and manners at all off-site excursion venues. The Beaudesert State School team would like to extend a huge congratulations to the Camp Australia team led by Angela Bufalino. We are incredibly lucky to have the team working with us. Thank you for all that you do.

Camp Australia is open before school from 6:30am until 6:00pm each evening. Students arriving at school earlier than 8:00am should be attending the Camp Australia before school program. Student supervision commences at 8:15am and all students should be in the undercover area after putting their bag away each morning. Under A Block is not a play area before school, which our students know.

Student Behaviour - Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL)

Our school team has high expectations around student behaviour expectations across our school. Each fortnight we have a Positive Behaviour for Learning focus which highlights explicit teaching of expected behaviour. These topics can include hands and feet to ourselves, using our manners, staying safe and respectful communication. As a parent you will be made aware of the Positive Behaviour for Learning focus each fortnight. We use positive behaviour strategies to explicitly teach what we expect at school and in life, however, there are times when positive reminders are not enough to reinforce expectations. This is when our students are referred to our reflection room. The reflection room is staffed by Positive Behaviour for Learning trained teachers who help students reflect on their behaviour, supporting them with strategies so the same incident does not occur. Your classroom teacher will advise you if your child is attending our reflection room. Please be assured that the reflection room is not the first step in reminding students around behaviour expectations.

We also run pro-active programs such as Boys Club and Bella Girls with targeted year levels to support behaviour and peer interactions. There are also lunch time activities such as the recent Handball Tournament run by Chappy Jimmy and myself.

We will never tolerate hands on behaviour and physical aggression amongst our students. If this was to occur with your child, you can expect suspension as a consequence. Every student is taught that they have the right to be safe, every day, for the rest of their life. Our students are taught to report concerning behaviour to their class teacher or other trusted adults in the school. As soon as a class teacher is aware of possible bullying a complete investigation takes place supported by the admin team. We aim to have a quick turnaround on this investigation so parents are aware of the findings and can support their child moving forward.

Communication with parents and Students

This year we have had increased experiences of Occupational Violence towards members of our school team. This has been from parents and students and can be in the form of physical assault, harassment, inappropriate communication, hostile behaviour or social media defamation. Our school team have the right to be safe at work and consequences are in place for the person when this is breached ranging from suspension and school bans to police and legal action.

Communicating with your child's school

The Department of Education has released a ‘communicating with your child’s school protocol’ for all state schools (attached below). This outlines what you can expect when communicating with our school and what is and is not appropriate behaviour and communication between all parties. Also attached is our school’s Complaint Management Procedure endorsed by our P&C.

If you have a complaint, parents are asked to email to the details of the complaint, including, where available, date, time and incident to your class teacher in the first instance. Where your complaint is around a staff member, please directly email the Principal. Please also note, the Department of Education also outlines that parents should not expect to meet with staff during the school day without an appointment. You can make an appointment by emailing your class teacher directly. If you do not know your teacher’s email, call the office on 5540 1111 and they will advise you.

We take all complaints incredibly seriously and respectfully ask that all parents follow this procedure so that we can work together to resolve concerns.

Yarning Circle

We recently had a yarning circle installed near our oval and in Semester 2 we will be working with our Indigenous Community to co-design our Yarning Circle protocols. We are also looking to install a bush tucker trail in our school which will begin at the Yarning Circle.

In the meantime, 4B have been enjoying this space.

Breakfast Club

Our daily Breakfast Club has been incredibly popular amongst students, so we are moving to a larger location in J Block. Breakfast Club will continue to serve fruit, toast and cereal with students now eating in the Undercover area. We are open Monday – Friday from 8:00am – 8:30am to all students. If you are a parent who enjoys waiting with your child before school, please ensure our Breakfast Club seats are free for our students. Students are also welcome to take fruit back to class for the daily fruit snack before first break.

Second Hand winter uniforms

Our second-hand winter uniforms are now available for free on the front office veranda. Most items are near new and are looking for a home. We wash and return all uniforms without names to the area for any student or family to use this winter. Therefore, having your students name clearly on all items is imperative so we can return them to your child. At times, items will still go missing even if they are clearly named. This is usual in a school and often occurs with hats. It is always a good idea to have a spare school hat your child can use while the class teacher helps them look for the lost one. It can take months for a lost, labelled hat to return to the class teacher.

Prep 2026 Enrolments

We are open for all 2026 enrolments in catchment. Please see your local Kindy for Prep enrolment packs or call the office on 5540 1111 to arrange. We will begin Prep enrolment interviews mid Term 3. We’re very much looking forward to welcoming new and existing families to our school.

Deputy Principal Update

Miss Ainsworth

As we move into the final weeks of the term, I’d like to provide some important updates and reminders regarding attendance, curriculum reporting, and upcoming school events. It has been an absolute pleasure serving as Acting Deputy Principal over the past 12 months. I truly love working with our students, staff, and community. Thank you for your continued support.

Attendance Matters

We understand that illness can impact attendance, and we appreciate families keeping unwell students at home to recover. However, we have noticed an increasing number of absences for reasons such as birthdays or shopping trips. These are not acceptable reasons for students to miss school.

Currently, our average school attendance sits at 89%, which means many students are missing out on vital learning opportunities. Consistent attendance is crucial to ensure students stay on track with their education.

If you are experiencing challenges in getting your child to school, we encourage you to speak with your child’s class teacher or contact the school directly. We are here to help and support all families in prioritising school attendance.

Please note that moving forward, any absences deemed unreasonable—such as family outings, birthdays, and school refusal—will be recorded as unjustified on ID Attend. If you have any concerns or would like to discuss your child’s attendance, please don’t hesitate to reach out.

Curriculum and Reporting Update

Academic reporting plays a key role in communicating student achievement and progress to both parents and students. Reports provide a snapshot of where each student is currently at in their learning journey.

With the implementation of the updated Curriculum, Assessment and Reporting Framework (CARF, November 2024), reporting scales have been revised:

  • Years 3–6 will be reported using: A, B, C, D, and E
  • Prep to Year 2 will be reported using: Applying, Connecting, Working With, Exploring, and Beginning

In addition, updates have been made to the behaviour scale. Schools will now use an A–E scale to report on student behaviour, acknowledging a range of performance levels against relevant standards.

Kindy Under 8’s Day – Thursday, 26th June at 9:00 AM

We are thrilled to announce our first Kindy Under 8’s Day, designed especially for Kindy-aged students who will be starting Prep in 2026.

We look forward to welcoming a range of Early Childhood Centres along with their students and families to Beaudesert State School on Thursday, 26th June at 9:00 AM. There will be a variety of fun and exciting activities for all children to enjoy.

This is a fantastic opportunity for families to explore what our school has to offer and to start building connections with our community. We look forward to welcoming you to our first annual Kindy Under 8’s Day.

Welcome to Our Environmental Club and Rubbish Rangers!

We are thrilled to introduce Beaudesert State School’s Environmental Club and Rubbish Rangers, a fantastic new initiative led by Miss Diamond and Miss A. Students from Years 4–6 have volunteered to be part of this enthusiastic group, which aims to promote environmental awareness through inclusive, fun, and meaningful activities.

Currently, the club is running a colouring-in competition to raise awareness for World Bee Day, World Environment Day, and World Oceans Day. As part of the initiative, we’re also excited to introduce Beauy Bee, our cheerful new mascot! Each week, Beauy Bee will be awarded on parade to a class that demonstrates outstanding efforts in keeping their learning area clean and tidy.

Our dedicated Rubbish Rangers have also been hard at work during lunch breaks, helping to keep our school grounds litter-free. You’ll spot them in their bright green vests, equipped with tongs and buckets. If you're visiting during lunch, don't forget to say hello!

We’re proud of these students and their commitment to making Beaudesert State School a cleaner, greener place for everyone.

Thank you once again for your ongoing support. Let’s continue to work together to make every school day count!

2025 Student Leaders

WHAT OUR RESPONSIBILITIES ARE:

Our responsibilities as leaders of the school are to help everyone and stop anything irresponsible or dangerous. We help to convey the school rules which are: Be responsible, Show respect, and Stay safe. We are all proud to be the leaders for our school. It is a very responsible and serious job we all have. We all love our positions and would do anything to do the right thing and not lose our positions. The house captains each have a different day for opening and overseeing the sports shed.

WHY IT IS FUN:

All though we have an important job to do it can also be fun. It can be very tiring being responsible but it's fun that we get to do it as a group. There is often lots of laughs while we're doing our jobs.

PARADES:

On parade, we have 4 of the leaders running the assembly. All the leaders and captains set up the chairs for everyone (staff, year 6, parents). Two of the sports captains from one of the houses say all of the sports announcements. It is fun when we all work together on parade.

UNDER 8’S DAY:

On under 8’s day, we help with setting things up and helping at the stations. We also get to have a turn at some of the stations and help the teachers. This makes the day fun for us as well, even though we are not under 8.

Thank you for reading my letter, and I hope you enjoyed reading it. By Jipsi Croker, school leader!

Classroom Reports

Prep

The Preps have had an eventful and productive Term 2, full to the brim with learning in their literacy groups, maths activities and gross motor program. The students have now learnt all the initial Jolly Phonics sounds and are beginning to manipulate them together to blend and segment short words. In English we have had lots of fun talking about what we like and dislike about the books we read and connecting stories to personal experiences. We have also been practicing retelling those stories for our friends. In Maths we have been learning about data collection, 2D shapes and mass as well as continuing to count and identify numbers. Prep A and C were also lucky enough to have the Early Childhood Students from Beaudesert State High School visit and bring lots of fun and engaging Maths activities for us to play. In Science we are learning about materials and their properties. We are looking forward to making our wind ornament at the end of the term.

Please remember to check the Audiri App to keep up to date with upcoming events.

Check out the photo gallery below to see all the fun we've been having

Year 1

The students have settled very quickly into Term 2 and have jumped right into learning. In English, students have been exploring narrative texts. Students have enjoyed reading a range of stories and learning how to retell these stories, as well as make a text to self connection. In Maths, students have been demonstrating how one and two digit numbers can be partitioned in different ways and that two digit numbers can be partitioned into tens and ones.  They have also been solving problems involving addition and subtraction of numbers to 20. Science investigations, this term, have been looking at various materials and the students have had a lot of fun making boats that float.

Year 2

What another fantastic term the Year 2s have had!  We had so much fun at the Under 8s Day, as well as taking part in the lunchtime Handball Competition (thanks Chappy). We also learned about the ANZACS and shared stories about our own family members who have served in the armed forces.  Here’s what else we have been learning this term:

For English, students have been learning how to recount a familiar narrative.  We first focussed on the text: Elmer the Elephant.  We are now in the middle of writing a recount on Edward the Emu.  Look out for our “star writing” outside the Year 2 classrooms in the coming weeks!  For Mathematics, students have been learning informal measurement, and looking at the features of 2D and 3D shapes.  For Science, our term’s focus has been investigating materials: posing questions, making predictions and conducting experiments by combining two different materials for a practical purpose.  Enjoy the photos enclosed!  The Year 2 Team.

Year 3

Wow, this semester has gone fast! We have had a busy term full of learning.

English: In English, the students have been learning how to write a narrative retell where they had to choose their favourite story to write about and present.  English has tied in with our HASS unit where we have been learning about Anzac Day and communities and how they have changed over time.  The stories they had to choose from was Anzac Biscuits and The Anzac Puppy, with a majority choosing The Anzac Puppy to retell.  It has been great seeing everyone really getting into the stories and thinking about the past.

Mathematics: In Mathematics, the students have been learning about measurement along with number partitioning and using partitioning for addition.  The students have been developing a strong understanding of these fundamental concepts through a range of engaging activities and hands-on experiences.

Science: In Science, we have been learning about Day and Night.  The students have learnt about the difference between rotation and revolution and how this effects day, night, seasons and years.  We all had an amazing time with STARLAB where this concreted our learning through an engaging visual show.

Media:  In Media, we have developed skills using PowerPoint to create a poster.

Overall, it has been a fantastic semester and we are incredibly proud of the hard work and dedication our Year 3 students have shown this far.

Thank you for your ongoing support and involvement in your child’s education. Your encouragement and engagement play a crucial role in their success.

Warm regards,

The Year 3 Teachers

Year 4

We hope that you are all staying warm out there and managing to also avoid the dreaded illnesses that this time of year brings!

While doing our best to fight off these bugs the year 4s have been delving into life before and during the settlement of Australia – exploring how our early indigenous people lived with the land and taking on new identities as convict children, writing diary entries as these characters.  The students have really enjoyed this task and have done an awesome job as a result of their engagement and enthusiasm.

As a precursor to our English, HASS introduced us to some of the early explorers and the motivators for early exploration:  Gold, God & Glory!  This included our indigenous explorers who cared for and guided many of explorers when they arrived in Australia.  Students were really fascinated by the Chinese explorer Zheng He, ask your child about the ships of his fleet, they were quite extraordinary compared to those of the European explorers.

We have also been engaging our creative side to design, construct and test out our Pinball machines in Design Technology - using our prior knowledge and knowledge gained through this terms Science focus: Forces.  In addition to this we have experimented with paper gyrocopters as part of our Science assessment, which has definitely been a highlight and a fun way of bringing the unit to a close.

Mathematics this term has been busy focussing on measurement (capacity, mass, temperature and length), and angles – comparing acute, obtuse, straight, reflex and revolution angles to right angles.  While we have had a great time creating and exploring symmetrical shapes & patterns, along with irregular and regular polygons.  Our Time focus has included working with and solving problems relating to our understanding of seconds, minutes and hours, am and pm, time conversion and calculating time elapsed.

Here are some excellent (free!) educational sites that we have used to consolidate & review these mathematical  concepts just FYI:    (there are loads of additional concepts covered on these sites, some also have Literacy components as well)

https://www.mathmammoth.com/practice/multiplication

https://www.mathsisfun.com/sun-clock.html

https://toytheater.com/clock/

https://ictgames.com/mobilePage/time.html

We have thoroughly enjoyed this terms Handball competition, the creation of our new Rubbish Rangers, and a recent Bus Safety presentation – it was a very engaging and well put together with two great presenters who easily connected with the students.

We also had Constable Flo and her Sergeant from Logan Central present the Think U Know online safety information session which was excellent and thought provoking – we had some great discussion about safe behaviour and strategies while online, after the presentation.  Here is the official website for resources or further information about the programme: https://www.thinkuknow.org.au/

After such a busy term - more so as we have reports coming out at the end of the term of course - everyone is looking forward to a very well-deserved winter holiday break!

Take good care out there –

The Year 4 team 😊

Year 5

Year 5 – Term 2 Wrap-Up

Wow, what a term it’s been in Year 5!

This term, we’ve been exploring space and the solar system in Science. The students have loved learning about planets, moons, and what it might take to live beyond Earth. They used all that knowledge to design their own space inventions—everything from space suits to survival gadgets!

In English, we linked our space theme to writing. Students let their imaginations run wild, creating exciting and creative stories. They also read lots of factual texts and learned what makes a great story. We focused on using figurative language to bring their writing to life and make their descriptions more powerful.

In Maths, we worked hard on multiplying larger numbers and becoming quicker with times tables and number facts. Students learned to use protractors to measure and draw angles, and we started looking at fractions, decimals and percentages to build their confidence in this tricky area.

In HaSS, students explored the ideas of citizenship and democracy. They took part in activities where they used a democratic process to solve real problems and thought about what it means to be an active citizen in Australia.

In Visual Art, students continued learning about the Elements of Art. They applied what they’ve learned to create some fantastic self-portraits, expressing their personalities, feelings or interests through colour, line, and shape.

Looking Ahead

It’s been a busy and fun term, and the students should be proud of everything they’ve achieved—especially all the awesome space designs they created! We hope everyone enjoys a well-earned holiday break and comes back refreshed and ready for more learning next term.

Thanks for a great term, The Year 5 Teachers

Year 6

Wow what a great term we’ve had! With only a couple of weeks to go, we’ll fill you in on some of the amazing things we’ve been getting up to. In English, the students have been wowing us with their descriptive language and creating some extremely exciting stories. They might be the next budding Roald Dahl! In maths, we’ve been learning about fractions, area and angles and if you ask most of the kids, they are probably thrilled the unit is over. We’ve also been learning about timetables. Science has been an engaging unit! In this class we have been creating electrical circuits, looking at sources of energy and renewable energy and we have been challenging the students to create security devices for their desks. We promise no one was harmed! In HASS, we’ve been learning about consumers, trade offs and opportunity costs. Hopefully the students will be more aware when hounding you for something and more aware of financial costs of items. We have a big term next term… CAMP! Something we are all looking forward to, so until then I’ll be catching up on my beauty sleep (we are going to need it). So, take care and have a great break!

Your Year 6 Teachers,

Kim Foster, April Wilkie and Georgia Witte.

The Arts

Performing Arts in Term 2

Years 4–6: Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious! Students in Years 4 to 6 have been embracing the magical world of Mary Poppins the Musical. They are learning a vibrant dance to the iconic song “Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious” and exploring how to develop character on stage. Through movement and expression, students are gaining confidence in performing. This high-energy routine challenges both memory and coordination, and the students have shown great enthusiasm and persistence. We can’t wait to share their lively performance with the school community at the Performing Arts Showcase in term 4!

Year 3-4: Dancing Through History

Year 3 students have been on a dance journey through time! Inspired by iconic styles such as disco, the hand jive, and the Charleston, they’ve been creating their own group dances based on these historical dance crazes. Each group has worked collaboratively to choreograph a short routine, learning how dance reflects the culture and energy of different eras. The focus on rhythm, creativity and teamwork has brought lots of excitement to our performing arts lessons. Some of their brilliant dances will be chosen to be featured in the Arts Showcase in term 4.

Years 1–2: A Performance for All Seasons In Years 1 and 2, students have been exploring the four seasons through music and poetry. They began by composing their own song inspired by the seasons, sharing thoughts and feelings about weather, nature and activities. Building on this, they are now creating a performance using poems that capture the essence of summer, autumn, winter or spring. Through voice, movement and simple props, students are developing their storytelling and expressive skills. Each group has chosen a different season to focus on, and the performances are shaping up to be both meaningful and joyful reflections of their learning.

Prep–Year 1: We're Going on a Bear Hunt! Our youngest performers have been singing, dancing and acting their way through the classic story “We’re Going on a Bear Hunt.” Students in Prep and Year 1 have brought this beloved song to life by becoming explorers—marching, splashing, and tiptoeing through the adventure. Using movement, sound effects, facial expressions and imagination, they’ve discovered how performance can transform a story into a shared experience. This unit has helped build confidence, creativity and teamwork in a fun and playful way. The children have especially enjoyed pretending to be brave adventurers, and their enthusiasm has filled the classroom with energy and laughter.

Sports Update

It’s been an exciting and action-packed time for sport here at Beaudesert SS!

To wrap up Term 1, we held our Year 3–6 Cross Country event. Every student who participated gave it their all, with plenty of cheering, heavy breathing, and even a few tears along the way. All students represented their Houses with pride, and in the end, it was Churchill who came out on top. Congratulations!

LOTE - Japanese

This term in Japanese, our Years 3 and 4 students are learning about family as well as learning how to read and write the Japanese script, Hiragana.  Our students have learnt 11 hiragana that have one stroke to write them.  I am most impressed with how well they are doing.  We learn them with a story attached, so be sure to ask your child about  wh

Our Years 5 and 6 students are learning about pets and different Japanese animal cafes. They are also learning all 46 hiragana letters as well as the extra sounds that can be made by adding special marks on the top right corner of some the letters.  Be sure to ask your child so they can explain how it works.  They are very clever indeed and I am very proud of each and every one of our students as they engage and show interest in learning about a new language and culture.

As you may be aware, we have our Japanese mascot, Pikachu awarded to the class with the best participation and behaviour in Japanese lessons.  Our winning classes this term are 4/5C, 6B, 5A, 6A, 4A and 5/6D.  All of our classes do such a great job and it is very hard to get Pikachu with such tough competition – so well done!

We also have a mini Pikachu that gets to sit on the desk of one of our students who is trying hard each week.  This week it is our year 3 student, Gracie.

Well done everyone! YOKU DEKIMASHITA  よくできました。

Design Technology

Technologies

Our students have been busy creating, designing, and coding in Technologies this term, and it’s been a joy to see their creativity and problem-solving skills in action.

Prep – Designing Troll Puppets Our Prep students have been exploring The Three Billy Goats Gruff through Design and Technologies. After investigating different materials and ideas, they created a plan for their very own troll puppet. They carefully followed the steps of their plan to bring their trolls to life using stick puppets – and they turned out wonderfully! Students also explored the story’s setting and imagined where their troll might live and what it would need to survive. It was a fantastic way to combine storytelling, creativity, and design thinking.

Year 1 and 2 – Thank You Cards with a Twist In Design and Technologies, our Year 1 and 2 students have been designing thank you cards that include a moving part. They considered how cards make people feel and thought about personal touches like favourite colours and meaningful messages. Students used techniques such as paper springs, tabs, folding, and split pins to add movement to their designs. The results were thoughtful, creative, and fun!

Year 3 and 4 – Coding for a Cause Year 3 and 4 students are diving into Digital Technologies and have been developing simple computer games in Scratch to promote recycling. They started by writing a plan based on a user story, then used their understanding of branching (if/then choices) and loops to code their ideas. It’s been impressive to see them applying the knowledge they gained last term as they bring their recycling-themed games to life.

Year 5 and 6 – Game Designers in Action In Digital Technologies, our Year 5 and 6 students have taken on the challenge of designing their own games in Scratch. They began by writing a user story and developing their own design criteria to solve a real-world problem. Now, they’re implementing their plans using coding concepts like branching, loops, and variables. I’m so excited to see the creativity and technical skill going into these projects and can’t wait to play their completed games!

STEM

Year 6 STEM Program Takes Flight with Aerodynamics

Thursday afternoons have been buzzing with excitement as our dedicated Year 6 students take part in this term’s STEM Program, focused on aerodynamics and air travel. This hands-on unit has sparked creativity, problem-solving, and some healthy competition as students explore the science of flight in fun and practical ways.

We kicked off the term with a parachute challenge—each team designed a parachute to keep a LEGO character airborne for as long as possible. Launched from the verandah, these parachutes put students' understanding of air resistance and design to the test in a thrilling competition.

Next, students turned paddle pop sticks and hot glue into flying discs, competing to see which creation could travel the furthest across the oval. For extra fun, Mr O'Brien awarded bonus points for the most creative frisbee names—there were some truly imaginative entries!

We then shifted gears to paper airplanes, with students researching and testing three different designs to determine which could soar the furthest. Some designs were so successful they ended up on the roof! These planes became the inspiration for the next engineering challenge: designing and building a launcher using thick cardboard, wooden dowel, rubber bands, and a healthy dose of innovation.

As always, the competitions continue with students earning points on the lab’s leaderboard. The overall standings change week to week, keeping everyone motivated and engaged.

To finish the term on a high note, we’re thrilled to welcome a special guest, Chris Thompson, a remote drone pilot from the Queensland Fire & Rescue Service. Chris will present on how drones are used during fires, lead a drone-building session, and demonstrate a live drone flight on the oval.

Instrumental Music

Students involved in the instrumental band program at Beaudesert State School have enjoyed an action-packed Term 2 so far! Earlier in the term saw the commencement of band rehearsals for the year, with continuing band students in years 5 and 6 joining together on a Tuesday afternoon to play together in a larger ensemble, and further hone their musical skills. Furthermore, on the Friday of week 6, 5 beginner band students took part in the Scenic Rim Beginner Band Workshop, which was held at Flagstone State School. These students joined with other young musicians from state schools in the region, including Gleneagle, Flagstone, Yarrabilba, and Logan Village, to form a massive concert band. In this ensemble, students took the opportunity to further develop their skills on their instrument, learn how to play fun tunes, get to know lots of other likeminded musicians from around the region, and at the end of the day, perform together in a concert for their families. If you would like your child to begin learning an instrument (specifically woodwind, brass, or percussion) through taking part in the instrumental band program, and potentially taking part in fun events such as the Scenic Rim Beginner Workshop, please do not hesitate to contact Instrumental music teachers Mr Angus Campbell (acamp486@eq.edu.au) or Mr Simon Francis (sfran38@eq.edu.au) for more information!
