Principal's Report

Dear Parents/Carers,

I can’t believe how quickly this term has flown past. Our students have worked extremely hard this term and have achieved some amazing results. Our staff have again, gone above and beyond in supporting our students to be the very best that they can be.

Thank you to our students, staff and parents/carers for all the support you have given to our school this term, to really set our students up for success.

We will be holding our annual ANZAC Assembly on Friday 24th April at 9:00am and our student are invited to march in the Beerwah Community ANZAC March on Saturday 25th April. Information about our ANZAC events will be published on the Audiri app.

Please take care over the school holidays and enjoy some quality time with your families.

Looking forward to seeing you all back in Term 2, on Monday 20th April, 2026.

All classes enjoyed an afternoon participating in Easter ball games this week.

Line-up Competition

Congratulations to 1/2 and 5/6A who were the winners of our line-up competition for this term. These classes enjoyed a pizza party on Thursday. I am so thrilled to be able to reward students for excellent behaviour.

Easter Hat Parade

Our annual Easter Hat Parade was held for Prep to Year 2 on Monday. Thank you to all those parent/carers who attended! What wonderful events to celebrate the end of the term!

Have a wonderful break!

English units

During weeks 9 and 10 all class teachers, and support teachers, have a day of time to do ‘before moderation’. During this time we deeply analyse the following term’s English unit and identify what student need to do in order to be successful in their tasks. Our English units are designed to work on a P-6 basis so all students are learning to:

1. Read, view and comprehend informative texts.

2. Create a written multimodal informative text.

As we move up through the grades, the complexity of the texts being utilised and created increases.

We’re very excited to see student engaging with these new units of work and sharing some of their excellent work during term 2.

Open classrooms

Our Open Classrooms held last week were a wonderful afternoon of students sharing their learning and engaging in activities with parents and carers. A big thank-you to everyone who took the time out of your day to come in and celebrate the amazing learning in our classrooms.

Stay tuned for the announcement of the date for our open classrooms day next term!

Student Services

At Beerwah, the Student Services team meets every second week to discuss how best to support our students’ learning and support needs.  Sometimes students’ needs are identified on enrolment or through our moderation process and other times individual student needs are identified by teachers.

Classroom teachers may discuss student needs with parents and carers and if necessary a referral will be made to the Student Services team.  If this is necessary, a green permission form will be sent home, explaining the process and we encourage you to complete the questionnaire on the rear of the form to help us to understand the needs of your student more clearly.

Our team are currently running an intervention program focussing on supporting students requiring additional support in the areas of phonemic awareness and phonics.
