Term 3 Wk 6 - Monday 26 August 2024 Newsletter

Principal's Message

We are halfway through Term 3 and Spring is just around the corner. It’s a good feeling!

It was so lovely to see so many dads, grandads and father figures at the P&C Father’s Day breakfast on Friday. Nothing beats the smell of bacon and coffee in the morning and there were plenty of tomato sauce smiles and hot chocolate moustaches as proof of the deliciousness! Thank you to our hardworking P&C for their efforts with decorating and providing a delicious breakfast. The photo booth was a hit, with many families capturing a memorable moment to keep for years to come. Have a wonderful day on Sunday 1 September.

This week Mrs Matheson, Mr Semmens and Ms Newton attended a training day in the use of the School Bytes platform. LPS is in a time of transition with our communication platforms. We are currently working on moving all the functions used in Sentral across the School Bytes. We are also looking at moving from Audiri to School Bytes daily communications to parents and community. We are aware that some families have children at multiple schools and not all schools use the same communication platforms, so understand the need to streamline our communication. This will be a gradual process over the next 12 months. Currently, we are working on developing a Semester 2 report template using School Bytes and will keep you all updated on any new changes we are making to our communication channels. We thank you for your patience as we move through this transition.

Have a great week.

The disco is fast approaching and we need your help on the night to make the disco a fun night for the kids.

Our Teachers generously volunteer their time to supervise the disco but they need our help.   We need volunteers to sell tickets, man the doors and support the Teachers supervising the children inside and outside the hall.

Both the Junior Disco and the Senior Disco need at least 12 volunteers to allow all the Hall doors to be open to let in fresh air and keep the students cool while they bust a move. We also need helpers for set up and pack up of the chairs etc.

Volunteer session times are:

Junior Disco (Kinder to Year 2) - 4.30pm to 6.15pm 12-14 Volunteers

Senior Disco (Year 3 to Year 6) - 6.15pm to 8.00pm 12-14 Volunteers

The disco is a fun night for our kids and also a great social night for our volunteers, you'll get to meet and hang out with other parents, grandparents, family and friends!
