Dear Jamberoo Public School Community,
Kiama CoS Music Art Dance & Drama (MADD) Extravaganza
As part of the celebrations of 175 years of Public Education and Education Week, 21 Jamberoo students participated in the MADD event at Kiama High School last night. It was wonderful to see so many of our talented students get up on stage and dance and perform so confidently. The two performances were both breath taking and it was fantastic to see so many Jamberoo families attend the event.
Thank you to all the Stage Two and Three students who put their heart and soul into the show. Thank you to the many parents/carers who supported their children last night and a huge thank you to Mrs Green and Mrs Behl-Shanks who put countless hours into preparing the Jamberoo students for the big event. The Jamberoo community is now very much looking forward to seeing all the students involved in the school’s production perform later in the term.
Attendance
Whilst the school does not reward student attendance, we do like to recognise students who have achieved 100%. Last term the school had 20 students who achieved perfect attendance. This was a fantastic result!
Well done to: Isla Burke, Liam Burke, Max Burke, Sofia Donaldson, Leo Downes, Rose Downes, Nate Farraway, Cooper Ford, Logan Ford, Ella Harris, Harrison Kirk, Samara Kristen, Mitchell Mitrevski, Maeve Rimmer, Archie Savell, Miles Stearn, Olivia Thatcher, Alexis Tidswell, Harper Timms & Arwen Tonta.
Open Day
A reminder to all families that Jamberoo Public School will be conducting its annual Open Day tomorrow. The school will be opening up classrooms from 10:30am which will be followed by a sausage sizzle at 11am. Jamberoo families are invited to stay for a picnic lunch with their children. This will then be followed by a whole school assembly at 12pm.
We look forward to celebrating Education Week with all our wonderful families tomorrow!
Parent Communication
From time to parents and carers have concerns or questions regarding their child, whether it be around their child’s academic progress, behaviour, social interactions or wellbeing. If you have any questions or queries, please always contact your child’s teacher about your concerns. The classroom teacher should always be the first point of contact as they have the knowledge of your child and can give you more accurate feedback.
If you feel that your questions or concerns have not been addressed sufficiently by your child’s teacher, then the next point of contact should be the school’s assistant principals, Mrs Galea and/or Mr Ross.
Finally, if you still have further questions regarding your child, don’t hesitate to contact the school to contact me. To correspond with one of the assistant principal’s or myself, please contact the school via telephone 4236 0173 or by email jamberoo-p.school@det.nsw.edu.au
Thank you Jamberoo families for your cooperation and understanding in matters regarding communication between the school and our families.
Eating Habits
A timely reminder to all Jamberoo families that the sharing of food by students at lunch and recess is not a habit we want them developing. This is very important because we have students who have allergies and special dietary requirements.
Please encourage your child/children to only eat food that has been provided in their lunch box.

Premier’s Sporting Challenge
The NSW Premier's Sporting Challenge (PSC) encourages all students in public schools to be more active, more often by increasing their participation in sport and physical activity. This year, Jamberoo Public School students will be participating in the program throughout Term 3.

All types of moderate to vigorous physical activities can count toward an award. Activities may include time spent in a broad range of sports and recreational pursuits during lunchtime, in school sport programs, class time, before or after school and on weekends.
