Principal's Message - Kim Fraser

It seemed most families took the school break to soak up the amazing weather we had and just relax and enjoy the sunshine! The students were very chilled on their return as we were off and running with Term 2 fun and events. It’s going to be a very long yet super exciting 11 week term with the Year 6 Business Fair kicking off the fun followed by the ANZAC Assembly, Edudance, Sculptures by the School, the incredible Network schools Keen2STEAM at CSHS and loads more to come!

As you may be aware, the Department of Education is negotiating with the State School Teachers’ Union (SSTUWA) and Principals’ Federation of Western Australia to reach an industrial agreement. While these negotiations are still ongoing, the SSTUWA has announced industrial action for half a day on the morning of Tuesday 23 April 2024. I want to reassure you that despite this action, our school will remain open however there will be modifications to our program throughout the morning. The Department of Education has assured me that they are working as hard, and as fast as they can to reach a resolution with the union. Every effort is being made to minimise future impact on all schools.  We fully support the continued focus on ensuring the development our profession to an optimal level. Thank you to the community for your support and understanding.

Enrolments for Kindergarten and Pre-Primary 2025 are now open! You can access detailed information on our webpage.  We are also aware that there are new parents in our community who are unsure of the Kindy enrolment process.  We would appreciate it if any of our parents know such families, to pass on the enrolment information. More information can be found on the Department of Education's website.

2024 CPS ANZAC Assembly

The 2024 ANZAC Assembly will be held at 1.50pm, on Friday, 26th May. All are welcome to attend.

We would like to thank the wonderful P & C for their organising of the memorial wreaths which will be created on Friday morning before school.

Any floral donations and/or volunteering of time will be much appreciated on the day as we aim to have a wreath proivded for each classroom attending.

If you would like to assist in this important way, please contact your child/ren's classroom P & C representative next week.
