As we farewell our Year 11 and Year 10 students for the remainder of the year, we wish them a safe and restful break. We hope they are able to achieve everything they set out to do over the holidays as they prepare to enter the next stage of their senior schooling journey in 2026.
For all remaining students, we are looking forward to an exciting and engaging final two weeks as we wrap up Term 4 and celebrate the end of the school year. As families move into holiday routines, there are a few important wellbeing and safety reminders to keep in mind:
Changes to Social Media Rules – From 10 December
New social media guidelines come into effect on 10 December. Parents and carers are encouraged to talk with teens about online behaviour, privacy, digital footprints and staying respectful online.
Where to find support:
- eSafety Commissioner: Practical advice, guides and webinars for parents.
- ThinkUKnow: Information on online safety and emerging technologies.
Staying Safe When Gaming Online
Online gaming continues to be a major holiday activity for many teens. Families can support young people by discussing privacy, in-game communication, screen time expectations and what to do if something feels unsafe.
Where to find support:
- eSafety’s Online Gaming Guide for parents
- Office of the eSafety Commissioner reporting tools
Keeping Active and Healthy
School holidays are a great opportunity for young people to reset routines. Encouraging regular exercise, balanced meals and healthy sleep habits can help maintain both physical health and emotional wellbeing.
Where to find support:
- Healthdirect Australia for credible child and teen health information
- Headspace for resources on healthy habits and wellbeing
Planning a Balanced Holiday Routine Parents can support their teens by helping them build a holiday plan that includes fun, downtime, responsibilities and social connections. A balanced routine helps keep stress low and engagement high.
Where to find support:
- Raising Children Network for guidance on routines, responsibilities and managing teen independence
- Headspace for tools that support motivation, planning and emotional health
Looking Ahead
While our senior students begin their break, we still have two important weeks of learning remaining for our Years 7, 8 and 9 students. Every day counts, and we encourage all students to continue attending, engaging and finishing the year strong.
We are also very excited to welcome our future Year 7 students in Week 9 as they join us for their final two transition days. This is a wonderful opportunity for them to become familiar with our school, meet staff, and begin building confidence for their start in 2026.
We look forward to a positive finish to the term and thank our families for their continued support.
