RICHMOND CHRISTIAN COLLEGE

TIDINGS - Term 4 Week 5 . 2024

Congratulations Jess!

Dear RCC Community,

You have heard me share before that I am a firm believer that we are blessed with God-given identity and purpose and as we grow and learn God grants us these desires (Psalm 20). Ergo, I am very excited to share with you this week one such God-given passion and purpose that God has placed on one of our student’s hearts and the impact she is having as she lives out this passion.

Jess Johnston, a student in Year 7, was this week awarded Overall Winner 2024 & Winner Best Junior Secondary for her work, Helping Animals by Jessica. Promoting animal welfare is a massive passion for Jess and she is now sharing with her world through the gifts and talents God has given her.

Congratulations Jess, we are so excited that you could receive this award and I am so excited to share her work with you today.

Good Tidings,

Seussical Jr The Musical is coming in 2025!

We are thrilled to announce that RCC is planning to stage the musical, Seussical Jr in 2025!

This is an incredible opportunity for students to showcase their talents in acting, singing, dancing, and stagecraft, while also building confidence, teamwork, and creativity.

Get ready to dive into the whimsical world of Dr. Seuss! Seussical Jr. brings together beloved characters like Horton the Elephant, the mischievous Cat in the Hat, and the tiny Who citizens of Whoville. Horton faces the challenge of protecting both a clover-sized world and an abandoned egg, teaching us that "a person's a person, no matter how small." With catchy songs, heartwarming lessons, and plenty of humour, this musical celebrates the power of friendship, loyalty, and imagination. Perfect for all ages!

Students in Middle & Senior School are invited to nominate to be involved in the production.

We can’t wait to see the creativity and enthusiasm this event will inspire in our school community. Stay tuned for more details!

 Thank you for your support!

2025 Integrated Project

2025 Integrated Project - Joy to the World

Dear RCC Community,

At Richmond Christian College we believe that service learning is a vital part of every young person’s growth. This is why every year our students in Year 7, 8 and 9 undertake an integrated learning project. This project allows our students to apply their academic knowledge, social and emotional understanding and problem solving skills to serve others in their community.

This year, our integrated project, Joy to the World, will encourage students to grow and apply their STEM, engineering, wood technology, textiles, hospitality and creative skills to serve their community by considering their role and responsibility in bringing joy to others.

As part of their project, students will create Buddy Benches for the College and wider community, and connect with St. Andrews Aged Care to bring joy through creativity and connection. They will also learn to create guitar pedals, sew bags, run a café, make a nativity and create joy-filled spaces.

Proceeds from the café and sewn bags will go to a charity organisation selected by the students.

We are looking for sponsors in our local community who are willing to connect with and support the College in the provision of this opportunity for our students. Sponsors could contribute skills, materials or financial support toward this project. All sponsors throughout this project will be endorsed on our social media sites and in Tidings.

If you are interested in providing sponsorship to this project, please call 6686 7847 or email admin@richmond.nsw.edu.au

Your sincerely,

Lisa Weingarth                        Rebecca Campbell
