We've had a fantastic couple of weeks back at school, with students working hard to achieve their learning and personal goals. All students develop three goals with a focus on English/Literacy, mathematics and a personal goal considering how they will achieve their goal, what steps they need to take, and who might be able to help them. It's been inspiring watching the determination and pride students show when they achieve their goals.
Our Year 6 students, preparing transition to Murrumburrah High School next year, have been enjoying visits to Murrumburrah Public School. These visits help them build social networks and engage in transition and resilience activities, easing the move to their new school environment.
Last Thursday, we were honoured to host a joint visit from Ms Megan Couvee (Yass Network Director of Educational Leadership), Mr Chad Bliss (Relieving Executive Director Regional South and Connected Communities Directorate), and Mrs Belinda Brown (Bowning Principal) as a part of our regular termly Director school visits. It was a pleasure to introduce our students and staff and showcase our wonderful school. Our visitors were impressed by the students’ enthusiasm for learning and our staff’s dedication to providing equitable opportunities in a small regional and rural setting. Mr Bliss was impressed with our art on display and in particular our Operation Art program. He was also impressed with our commitment to collaborative practices and our Professional Learning Community network between Bowning and Wee Jasper schools, " This sense of collaboration and shared purpose speaks to the very heart of the Plan for NSW Public Education, with its emphasis on equity, excellence, and ensuring every student is known, valued, and cared for."
This week I head off on a week's long service leave with Mr Godman taking on my teaching responsibilities, and Mrs Ranie will step in as relieving principal.
Happy Book Week!
