Message From The Principal

Dear Parents and Carers

Welcome back to the new school year. For some of you it will be returning and for others it will be the beginning of the partnership with a great school.

I’d like to take this opportunity to welcome Ms Sharon Middleton and Mrs Kasey Rudd as new members of staff. Ms Middleton will be replacing Mr McWhirter as Assistant Principal and will be leading Stage 2 and 3. Mrs Rudd has joined us after returning to the coast from teaching out west. She will be teaching Year 4/5. We are delighted to have these new faces in our school and hope they enjoy the year.

SCHOOL BEHAVIOUR EXPECTATIONS

The management of student behaviour is based upon the values of the school-

RESPECT, RESPONSIBILITY and RESILIENCE.

Please find attached a copy of the NSW Behaviour Code for Students. This code outlines student expectation in being respectful to others and speaking courteously.

SWIMMING CARNIVAL

The Annual Swimming Carnival will be held at Wingham Pool on Wednesday 14 February commencing at 9:45am. All students from 3-6 and Year 2 who are 8 or turning 8 this year are eligible to attend. The cost will be $4 for entry into the pool. Cost to spectators is $1. Season tickets will be accepted.

We will require the assistance of parents on the day to help with time keeping and other duties. If you can assist on the day, please contact the school.

We encourage students to wear their house colours. Rosellas- green, Finches- red, Honeyeaters-Yellow. The uniform shop has coloured t-shirts available for $10.

Parents and spectators are welcome to join us.

A permission note will be sent home with students.

CANTEEN

Canteen will re-open on Wednesday 7 February. It will run Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Parents can use the Flexischool App to order or students can bring cash.

NEW PLAY EQUIPMENT

We are very excited! Our two new play equipment areas are in the final stages of completion with rubber soft fall being poured in the next few days. They are colourful and interesting. I am sure the students are going to be thrilled.

Important Information

School Bytes Parent Portal

This year our school will be using the School Bytes Parent Portal. The portal will be a means of communication with parents. Permission notes for events and payments made to the school will also be managed through this portal. Please register as soon as possible with current email address for both parents/carers.

In the very fast paced world we live in, we understand the need for you, our parents/carers to have the flexibility to make payments outside of school hours and furthermore, the ability to receive and respond to communication at a time that best suits your needs. As a result, we are excited to announce our school will be engaging the services of School Bytes who offers a simplified digital system for school payments and parent/carer communication.

Changes you can expect

  • The student's Statement of Account and payment reminders will be sent directly to parents/caregivers via email.
  • Emails will be sent to you from noreply@mail.schoolbytes.education.
  • The student's Statement of Account email will include the make a payment button that will take you to the school's online payment portal.
  • If the activity involves a cost, the make a payment button will allow you to pay securely, quickly and easily via credit or debit card after granting permission (Visa and Mastercard only).
  • Online forms including permission notes, will be sent to you directly via School Bytes with a link enclosed. Select the link to open the secure online form.
  • The online form will have information about the activity with a section for a digital signature (either with a mouse or your finger) prior to submitting.

If you are having difficulty please contact the school on 65534443 so we can assist.
