Message from the Principal

Dear Parents / Carers,

United Nations Assembly – Friday's Celebration Last Friday we gathered for our United Nations Assembly, and what a wonderful occasion it was. The event truly highlighted the diversity and unity of our school community. Students proudly represented cultures from around the world, reminding us of the values of respect, inclusion, and global citizenship. Thank you to all who contributed to making it such a memorable celebration.

Christmas Market Day –Huge Success! We were excited to welcome you to our annual Christmas Market Day market last Saturday. This is always a highlight of the year, with stalls, food, entertainment, and festive cheer. It was a fantastic opportunity for families to come together and celebrate the season. Thanks to all those that made the event a success.

Attendance Reminder - Please ensure that children attend school every day right up until Thursday, 4th December. Consistent attendance is essential for maintaining learning progress and finishing the term strongly.

Continuation/Withdrawal of Enrolment for 2026 - We kindly remind parents to complete the Continuation/Withdrawal of Enrolment forms for 2026. This information is vital for our planning and helps us prepare effectively for staffing and class arrangements in the year ahead.

Thank you for your ongoing support and partnership. Together, we continue to build a vibrant, inclusive, and forward‑looking school community.

Warm regards,

Mr Gregory  Neville

UN Assembly

Our UN Day celebration on Friday, 21st November was a wonderful success! Students and parents showcased their unique cultures and countries through vibrant displays, creating a truly memorable event.

A heartfelt thank you to the organising committee, led by Ms. Peter, and to all parents for your invaluable contributions. Your support made this celebration possible and meaningful for our school community.

Market Day

The school, together with the LIS Parents & Friends (P&F), will be hosting our Christmas Market Day on Saturday, 22nd November.

Parents are kindly asked to donate food and drinks for the P&F stall, which will be sold during the event. Spread the word and invite family and friends to come along, enjoy delicious hot food, and shop for gifts for their loved ones. Items for sale will include arts and crafts, plants, and a wide variety of festive goods. Entry is just K2 per person. Don’t miss the Monster Raffle Draw at 12:30pm!

Come along, support the school, and celebrate the festive season with our community.

Betel-nut on campus

Please be reminded that entering the school grounds with betel-nut in your mouth is strictly prohibited. This is in accordance with our school policy aimed at maintaining a clean, safe, and respectful environment for all. Anyone found entering with betel-nut present in their mouth will be refused entry. We appreciate your cooperation in upholding our community standards.

Hat policy

Students are encouraged to wear their hats at all times when outdoor. Please ensure your child comes with his/her school hat/cap to school every day. Students without hat will not participate in outdoor activities including playtime. Class teachers will reach out to parents of students who are not wearing the correct school hat/cap in school or their child may be without a hat/cap for a number of days. Students who tie their hair are encouraged to tie their hair in a manner where their hair allows the hat/cap to sit nicely on their head.

Carpark Safety Reminder

To help keep everyone safe, please follow these important carpark rules when entering and exiting the school:

  • Drive slowly — the speed limit is 5 km/h at all times
  • Stop behind the cones — do not drive past them
  • Avoid stopping on the crossing line — keep it clear for pedestrians
  • Be considerate — watch out for other drivers and pedestrians
  • If you’ll be parked for a longer time, please use the parking space under the tree

Your care and attention help make our school a safer place for everyone. Thank you for your support and cooperation!

LIS Secondary Newsletter – Week 8, Term 4

Dear Parents and Caregivers,

Welcome back to another edition of our newsletter. Few updates and reminders for this week:

Academic and Attendance Reminder

The School Year Has Not Ended

Normal lessons will continue until the final day of Term 4 on Friday, 5th December. Students are still covering key curriculum content, and attendance remains essential. We remind parents that statements such as “assessments are over, so there is no school” are incorrect. Assessment is ongoing throughout secondary schooling until the completion of Grade 12.

Curriculum Progression:

  • Year 11 students: Beginning Grade 12 units
  • Year 9 students: Beginning Grade 10 units
  • Grade 10 students: Beginning Grade 11 content

Attendance Policy:

  • Students who are absent will be marked accordingly, including those taken out early for travel or other non-school commitments.
  • Please note that more than 30 days of absence breaches Education Policy and may result in suspension or expulsion.

Your support in ensuring consistent attendance is greatly appreciated.

Staying Connected

To keep up to date with school announcements, upcoming events, and assessment information, please continue to use the Audiri App, our primary communication platform.

Thank you for your ongoing support and partnership throughout the term. Your involvement remains vital to your child’s learning, wellbeing, and overall success. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us.

Warm regards,

James Winas
