Public Education Week
Welcome to Public Education Week! What a wonderful celebration of student learning, growing and belonging we had at our Open Day on Tuesday. Thank you to the teachers and students for the tremendous effort preparing for this special event, and to the community members who came along to support our school. The artwork created by the students was nothing less than outstanding! In coming days, we will install a selection in the school foyer for our community to enjoy. A special mention goes to Grandma's Secret Orchard supermarket in Telopea for their most generous donation of the delicious rolls and sausages for our Open Day BBQ.
This year’s theme, “Inspiring Excellence”, truly reflects our school’s commitment to both high expectations and opportunity. I am incredibly proud of the standards we set for student behaviour and learning, and the excellence we foster through explicit teaching. It is an honour to come to work at Telopea each day and to be a part of this wonderful learning community.
On Friday, we have our annual Athletics Carnival at Curtis Oval. Please be reminded that the students need to be at school by 9am, ready to walk to the oval with their teacher. Parents, carers and community members are very welcome to come along and join us for the day. Events will start at approximately 10am. A special thank you to the parents and carers who came forward to help with the P&C BBQ. I am so heartened by the willingness of our community to contribute to these special opportunities for our students.
Thank you for joining us either at one of our Education Week events, or in spirit as we celebrate public education and inspire excellence within our school community.
