St Mary's Bulletin

Term 3 - Week 1 (24th July, 2026)

Dear Parents and Caregivers,

We have been blessed with some beautiful weather to begin Term Three this week. The children seem to have settled quickly into the new Term which is shaping up to be a busy one.

The WA Student Assistance Payment

The Office Ladies have been working very hard to send everyone a copy of your child’s 8 digit Western Australia Student number. You will need this number to claim through the ServiceWA app or online at:

 www.education.wa.edu.au/wasap

Alternatively, you can send in a paper claim form (available from the School Office).

Parish Centenary

The Parish is celebrating 100 years of being an active faith community in Merredin on the weekend of the 1st & 2nd August. Please save the date in your calendar to support this important milestone. As part of the celebration, the school classrooms will be open for the community to visit on Saturday 3-5pm and on Sunday 9-10am. There will be a photo display in the Hall and some light refreshment on Saturday afternoon. Please take the time to visit the school, look at the photos and maybe have a little walk down memory lane.

NAPLAN

The children from Year Three and Five sat the NAPLAN assessment in Term One. The results will go home to the parents this week. The School Community can be very proud of the children’s results. The school is tracking on or slightly above the National average in all subjects except for Spelling where we are slightly below. This has already been identified and addressed by the Staff and is a school focus for 2026.

School Photos

Once again MSP will be attending the St Mary’s School for School Photos. Photo Day is on the 11th August. Information has gone home this week. Please read all notes carefully and look after your “shoot key” as you will need this when ordering photos.

Bus Children

To facilitate a smooth, stress free, system of operation could parents please write in their child’s diary when they will not be travelling home by bus. We have had some children writing in the diaries for themselves with inaccurate information. To save unnecessary phone calls home to clarify and check information we would really appreciate adults only recording this important information.

Have a wonderful weekend,

God Bless

Take A Guess Fundraiser

Well unfortunately everyone was still in holiday mode and we only raised $12.00 this week for Telethon, but luckily Remi's brain was in full gear and she correctly guessed the 603 pieces of pasta. This meant she was lucky enough to take home two delicious bags of lollies!!!

We are looking forward to a more successful week next week....let's keep those guesses coming in and keep raising money for this terrific cause!!!
