School Values

This term we have continued to live into our school values, particularly our value of Opportunity. Students have experienced many opportunities to build their skills, knowledge and understandings in Term 2. Some highlights have been our stobie pole artwork project, Jump Rope for Heart, visit from Mio Sensai, as well as our continued work in our vegetable garden. All of these you will see featured as part of our newsletter. In the yard, there has been kindness all around, which has strengthened others sense of Belonging and Teamwork at pack up in the yard has also been a focus. As the saying goes 'teamwork makes the dream work'.

Reports

Reports went home on Wednesday. Reports provide valuable feedback on your child's achievement so far this year. As we know, our school value of Achievement can look different for everyone. When reading the report you may like to focus on your child's strengths and use some feedback or next steps written in the report as goals for future learning in partnership with school.

Wellbeing

Our focus on Wellbeing has continued also, and we embedding kimochis emotional literacy to describe feelings, and regulation as a tool to support children to be 'ready to learn'. Our wellbeing focus will continue into Term 3 with a focus on Growth Mindsets and Resilience.

Stobie Pole Project

As a school we have been working on a stobie pole painting project which will be unveiled next term. I would like to take this opportunity to thank Jenny Polley, Kim Glazer, Kelly Richards and Jenna Farrelly for producing two beautiful mosaics as part of our project. Thank you also to our SSO Kim Chase who has lead this project with classes.

Term 3

This year we have a mid year Term 3 Reception intake, and welcome our first student next term. We also have Book Week with the theme 'Reading is Magic', as well as Science week in August. It is also a term full of Olympic excitement!

Happy Holidays

Thank you again to the Wasleys School community for a fabulous term. I wish everyone a very safe and enjoyable holiday. I look forward to continuing to work with the Wasleys School community for the remainder of the year.
