Term 2, Week 7

Principal's Report

Southern Tablelands Dance Festival

On Monday 5 June students from K-6 performed at GPAC as part of the Southern Tablelands Dance Festival. It was wonderful to watch the enthusiasm and fabulous costumes on the big stage! Congratulations to all students involved and a huge thank you to the teachers that gave up their time to make it happen- Miss Roberson, Miss Wiggins and Mrs Munro.

K-2 Cross Country

It was a perfect afternoon last Friday for the K-2 Cross Country. All students ran the oval course with the help of some senior students. It was also fantastic to see so many family members come along to cheer on the runners. Congratulations to all of our students.

RAT Kits

Please contact the office if you require RAT kits. We have had an increase of positive cases in our school community. Please keep your child at home if they test positive to COVID and are showing symptoms.

Communication with teachers

Open communication between families and teachers is valued at Goulburn Public School and it is important that this communication takes place at a mutually convenient time.

An increasing number of parents are visiting classrooms in the mornings, looking to speak with teachers. This time is required by teachers for class preparation and planned staff meetings. We ask that parents please contact the office in the first instance to leave a message or to make an appointment to speak with the class teacher at a later time. Thank you for your understanding.

School Attendance

Attendance at school every day is important. When your child misses school they miss opportunities to learn, make friends and build skills.

Attendance below 90% has a negative impact on your child.

If your child is absent, please call or email the school or complete the green notification of absence note.

Attendance Team Coordinator

Good To See You Days

We are celebrating attendance at Goulburn Public School with our ‘GOOD TO SEE YOU’ days.

Children who attend school on these days are rewarded with a treat, extra play or special activity.

At the end of this term there will be a special reward for children who have attendance above 90%.

Library Book Borrowing

To borrow books from the library all students need a library bag. This is important to keep library books safe while travelling to and from school and from Lunch box mishaps. An recyclable shopping bag or pillowcase are some great options. Please make sure your child's name is clearly labelled on their library bag.

Joke Of The Week!

From The Office

Administering Prescription Medication

When a medical practitioner has prescribed medication that must be administered during the school day, parents/carers must:

  • notify the school
  • provide up to date information as required
  • supply the medication and any 'consumables' necessary for its administration in a timely way.
  • Must be supplied in a blister/webster pack or original packaging with a prescription label attached.
  • Parents/carers of children who require prescribed medication to be

administered at school must complete a written request document.

Students must not carry medications and medications are to be delivered to the office by parents/carers or the chemists.

Non-prescribed medications

Schools generally don’t administer medication that hasn’t been requested for an individual student’s specific condition. In some cases the medical practitioner may not write a prescription for such medication because it may be available 'over the counter'. NSW Health advises that ‘over the counter’ medication may still be harmful and that schools should follow the same procedures for non-prescribed medications as for prescribed medications.

For further information, please contact the school office.

Update Your Details

Have you moved house? Do you have a new phone number or email address?

Please contact the school office to update any details that may have changed.

Visitor Check In

All parents/carers and visitors who enter the school grounds must check in at the front office. Please report to the office directly after entering the school gates and you will be issued with a visitors sticker to wear for the duration of your visit.  This is for the safety of all students and staff members.

If you wish to speak to a teacher, please contact the office and a time can be arranged for you.

Thank you for your co-operation.

Online Payments

There has been a bit of confusion when paying for certain events/activities/uniforms online.

The school events and activities are separate to the P&C run uniform shop.

If you are purchasing uniforms – this is to be paid to the P&C account – their details are on their price lists.

All other payments to the school for excursions/activities/sports etc are to be paid to the school account which the link is found on our school website.

https://goulburn-p.schools.nsw.gov.au/

then go to: MAKE A PAYMENT

There has been lots of mixed payments and it is making it difficult to reconcile accounts.  If you are unsure at all, please call the office on 48212827, and we can confirm for you.

We do not want any student to miss out on any activity due to payment not being received.
