Student Success
What wonderful celebrations of student achievement we have had over the last 2 weeks at the School Service and the Presentation Day assemblies. Congratulations to all students who were recognised at either assembly for their academic, sporting, musical, citizenship, artistic, cultural or social achievements. I would also like to extend a congratulations to the librarians, sports team leaders and the 12 members of our 2025 Student Executive team on their appointments to a very strong leadership team for next year. It has been a very exciting two weeks!

Early Stage 1 (Kindergarten): Mr Isaac Lowe and Mrs Bree Zink – Mrs Janis Milgate as AP

Shine (3 x Support Unit classes): Mr Liam Shoesmith, Miss Brooke Wheller, Mrs Georgina Ward – Mrs Ward is also the AP for Shine
Party Day
Congratulations to the teachers and students who have enjoyed their stage party events today. ES1 and Stage 1 had a silent disco and a juggling wizard in the afternoon, Stage 2 went to see Moana at the movies and Stage 3 had fun on the giant inflatables. All students participated in Secret Santa gift swapping in the afternoon session. A great day was had by all!
Overdue library books
At the end of Week 9, we still had nearly 120 overdue library books. This equates to a lot of money for our school if not returned, and a lot of resources other students cannot access. This number has decreased markedly last week but we still have many items missing. Mrs Freund is currently doing the annual stocktake and would love for any overdue books to be returned immediately; particularly from families who are leaving the school on Wednesday 18th December. Overdue notices have been issued multiple times and families will receive a bill for outstanding books that need to be replaced, so please return them asap.
Attendance
A reminder from our HSLO and the school that all school days matter as they count towards student learning. Please provide a note or text with a correct reason for student absences, as soon as possible following the absence. If the reason does not meet DoE guidelines or is questionable, the absence will be marked as unjustified on the roll.
Year 6 Clap Out – Wednesday 18th December at 2.30pm under the Primary COLA. All welcome!
School Uniform Reminder: Please refer to last fortnight’s newsletter for the correct uniform items when purchasing uniforms over the Christmas break.
2025 SE members are reminded that they need to have totally black school shoes (leather or joggers). Girls on the team will need the school skirt and the boys will need to wear grey shorts at special assemblies and events. Each SE member will receive a white dress shirt and be able to loan a school blazer for special assemblies.
We thank parents in advance for ensuring your children are adhering to school uniform expectations in 2025. Wearing of uniforms allows all students to be on an equal footing and make us look like a great team when we venture outside of the school or when we have visitors.
School Supplies
Families are most welcome to head out during the ‘Back to School’ sales and purchase items for their children. However, teachers will furnish families with a note at the commencement of the school year, so do not feel pressured to purchase items that may not be required- waiting for the note is wise. Year 5 & 6 students have received their reminder about laptops for classroom use in 2025. Stage 3 students are required to have their laptop at school, charged and ready for learning - every day. Please speak to your child’s teacher in the new year, if you have any further questions. Hint: many families think they make a great gift for Christmas!
WBHS Uniforms
If your child is moving on to WBHS in 2025 or you already have some students there, Ms Patrick has access to some kindly donated uniforms. There are some black shorts for boys as well as junior and senior girls’ uniforms. The donating families did not want to sell them and make money but would rather see them go to a family who would appreciate the reduction in costs associated with transition. Please speak to Ms Patrick via 49488129 if we can possibly assist you with these uniforms – as we’d love to see them find a new home!
2025 Arts Events Calendar
Please see the attached information flyer regarding events in the creative arts field, in case your child may be interested in them for 2025.
