Principal's News

Dear Families

Next week is Catholic Care's Family Week and it is a perfect time to come together to celebrate the power of family relationships in all their diversities, the importance they play in our lives and community. One small way we are exploring this year's theme of 'Building Compassionate Families and Communities', is by inviting each student to draw their family and have this displayed in our Office - keep an eye out for it! Please know we are forever grateful for our Fatima families, the warmth, understanding and welcome you bring to our community.

Feast Day

This Monday May 13th our school is celebrating Our Lady of Fatima's feast day. Michael Mangan is a highly-respected musician, performer, teacher and liturgist who has created a rich repertoire of sacred music for children.  Michael will be joining us to celebrate the miracles that occurred in Fatima, coming all the way from Brisbane just to see us! He is leading us in a concert that is scheduled to start at 12.30pm and conclude at 1.40pm. After Lunch time at 2.25pm there will be a special liturgy held by the year 6 leaders and Michael. Parents and friends are most welcome to join us for this special occasion.

National Consistent Collection of Data (NCCD)

Please see the attached PDF for the NCCD Information Sheet for Parents, Carers and Guardians. NCCD counts the number of students who receive additional adjustments or “help” at school because of a disability.

2024 Victorian Premiers’ Reading Challenge

The 2024 Victorian Premiers’ Reading Challenge is now open. The Challenge encourages children and students to read a set number of books over the year and record their efforts online. This year’s theme is “explore, learn, enjoy.” There are different goals for different stages, and thousands of books to choose from on the Premiers’ Reading Challenge book list. At the end of the Challenge, readers will receive a certificate of achievement, signed by the Hon Jacinta Allan MP and past Premiers. This is a Home Based Challenge. If you would like your child to participate please register at https://vprc.eduweb.vic.gov.au/register. Select Home Based Reader (school age) and follow the prompts.

Mother's Day and Special Friends breakfast

What an incredible time we had celebrating our mums, nans, aunties and special people this morning! Thank you to everyone who attended. An extra big thanks to Fleur Koole, staff and the wonderful PFA team led by Lisa Farrelly who made this beautiful celebration happen!  Sending love to all of the amazing women that inspire us every day this Mother’s Day. Enjoy all the love and admiration that comes your way this Sunday and beyond!

Go well 🙂
