Rozelle Public School Newsletter

TERM THREE WEEK TWO

FROM THE PRINCIPAL

Rozelle is a place where Aboriginal children learned, played and celebrated their culture for thousands of years on this beautiful, natural land. As we learn, play and celebrate together on this land, we honour the Wangal people of the Eora nation and pay our respects to elders both past, present and emerging.

Next week, NSW public schools’ will be celebrating Education Week. This annual event provides an opportunity to celebrate the best of public education and the achievements of our schools, teachers and students. This year’s theme is Proud to belong. Public Education Week is a time for all of us to feel “proud to belong”, sharing our pride in being part of NSW public education and the achievements of our students and staff.

To mark the occasion we welcome parents and carers to join us on Friday 9 August for a classroom visit after our Education Week morning assembly.

Assembly begins at 9:15am and classroom visits will start at 10am. Following our classroom visits, parents are invited to join children for eating time on the playground at 10:45am.

CARNIVAL SUCCESS

Congratulations to all students who participated in our K-1 and Y2-6 Athletics Carnivals last week.

These events were a great way to start what will be a busy term. It was fantastic to see students support one another and challenge themselves as they participated in a variety of activities. Thank you to all staff for making these events possible, in particular Kate Vallieres for organising K-1 and Liz Singleton and Ella Gubb for their organisation of our Y2-6 event.
