Principal's Report

Week 4 is certainly a busy one! We have lots of information in this weeks newsletter about events and excursions. Please be mindful of departure times as some excursions require departing before our normal start time.

 

Tuesday - Careers Expo for Years 5 and 6 

The upcoming Careers Day event for Year 5 and 6 students will be held on Tuesday 16th May 2023 from 9:45am – 1:40pm. The event will be taking place at Falls Creek Public School.

Mrs Robinson and some parents helpers - Julie and Mandy will provide private transport for the day. Please meet at school at 8:30am for an 8:45am departure. If you are taking your own child, please email Mrs Robinson to let her know lynette.curtis@det.nsw.edu.au


Wednesday - Tennis Knockout Semi Finals

I would like to wish our students heading to the Tennis Knockout Semi Finals on Wednesday the best of luck versing Goulburn East PS! Congratulations in progressing this far - Claudia, Logan, Luke, Colbie, Sam and Elsie!


Wednesday - 3/4J Host our Assembly

3/4J will be hosting our next Assembly on Wednesday 17th May. The assembly will commence at 2.30pm to allow time for Music Club to perform and the class items that have been prepared. Parents and families of 3/4J students and anyone who attends Music Club are welcome to attend. 


Thursday -  Eisteddfod for students in K/1AP and 1/2J

Our K-2 students will be departing KVPS by bus earlier than our normal start time so please arrive at school at 8:15am for an 8:30am departure to perform at 9:30am at City Church in North Nowra on Thursday 18th May. Please arrive on time in full school uniform ready to go. Family members are welcome to come along and watch the performance. 


Thursday - District Cross Country 

A revised program is now attached with a start time of 10am for the District Cross Country Carnival for this Thursday, 18th may.  


Friday - Walk Safely to School Day

This Friday, 19th May is Walk Safely to School Day. Students can meet KVPS teachers at either Nugents Creek Road or Hampden Bridge at 8.30am for an 8.40am departure to walk with teachers to school. 


Beneath The Surface Expression of Interest

This exciting opportunity for 25 students to attend an excursion on Thursday 22nd June as part of the Festival of Canoe and Kayak is now full. Thank you for your prompt response. All students who have submitted an EOI have secured a place. Further details about the experience, what to bring and timings for the day will be provided in the newsletter over the next few weeks. 


Excursions/Incursion Annual Payment

To pay for excursions and incursions planned throughout 2023 you can make a payment online by visiting our school website and clicking on the make a payment link. The cost for K-2 students is $80 and for 3-6 students it will be $100.

Skoolbag now Audiri

SkoolBag has moved to a new name and new brand - Audiri

Parents will be prompted to upgrade their Skoolbag app in the app store directly – this upgrade will move them automatically into Audiri and transition their username and password across seamlessly. Parents do not need to delete the app and re-download.

Please note: this is not a change initiated by us.

Small Schools Athletics Carnival

The Small Schools Athletics Carnival will be held on Tuesday 13th June in Week 8 at Shoalhaven High School for all students who are turning 8 this year or older. A permission note will be provided very soon.

4E Program - High Potential & Gifted Education at Bomaderry High

Dear Students and Parents/Carers of 2023 Year 6 students,

The purpose of the 4E program is to accelerate, enrich and extend students through design thinking projects and cross-curriculum priorities. This unique two-year program also gives students the opportunity to participate in a variety of extra-curricular learning and leadership activities that enhance communication, collaboration and critical thinking skills.

Current Year 6 students who have submitted an Expression of Interest to enrol at Bomaderry High School are invited to apply for the 4E Class of 2024 online via the 4E Class 2024- ApplicationApplications close 17th July 2023.

All applicants will be expected to attend the RISE and SHINE Experience Day on Wednesday 16th August - further details will be sent to applicants via email.
