Message from Julie

Student reports became available in the new parent portal on Wednesday this week.  We know this is a new system, and we have been incredibly pleased with the parent and family support during the registration process.  If you are having trouble accessing your child's report, please contact the office.

Wishing you and your families a wonderful break.  See you all in Term 3.

(Term 3 begins on Monday, July 21).

Julie

Every Day Counts!

Every Day Counts!

EVERY DAY COUNTS! Missed school adds up to a lot of missed education. Attendance rates since Covid times have not yet recovered to pre Covid (normal) rates across South Australia. We are working to have children at school every day. Every day matters. Please let the school know via the Audiri app, a phone call or Seesaw message if your child needs to be away and if it is for sickness or for family reason. All unexplained absences require follow up by teacher/school. An exemption signed by the Principal is required for family holidays of 3 or more days. Every day counts!

Our Aussie of the Month program aims to recognise the following values in our learners. Fair go, mateship, respect and inclusion.

Our Aussie of the Month for June is Ananya Saravanan from P7.

Ananya consistently shows kindness and generosity, always offering to help both peers and staff. She has played a vital role in supporting many of our new students, particularly those arriving from other countries, helping them feel welcomed, included, and less overwhelmed during their transition to a new environment.

Congratulations to Ananya for being awarded Aussie of the Month.

SAPSASA Soccer

SAPSASA Soccer

On the 3rd of July, 14 students represent our school at the SAPSASA Soccer held at Blair Athol North Primary School. The team played two exciting matches — the first against Thorndon Park and the second against Blair Athol. Both games were incredibly close and competitive. In the first match, we finished regular time at 1–1 and went into overtime. Despite our best efforts, Thorndon Park managed to score, securing the win.In the second game, Dernancourt led right up until the final moments, with the match ending in a 4–4 draw. All players should be extremely proud of their teamwork, sportsmanship and resilience. Many of these students don’t play soccer regularly, and this was the first time they’d played together as a team — making their performance even more impressive. Well done to all of you!A big thank you as well to our parent helpers, and to Julie for assisting with supervision and transport to and from Blair Athol — your support is truly appreciated. Also to Mrs Salini who stepped in last minute to Coach the team on the day.
