Principal's Message - Kim Fraser

What a celebration!

Last Tuesday, our Year 6 students truly shone during their annual Business Fair. The school was absolutely buzzing with excitement and creativity! It was a joy to see the Year 6 students proudly showcasing and selling their products, while the rest of the school enthusiastically explored the many treats and items on offer. I must admit, I spent my pocket money several times over—and loved every minute of it!

A heartfelt thank you to the year 6 teachers and staff and all the parents who supported their children in preparing for this event. Your encouragement played a huge role in helping them develop valuable entrepreneurial and communication skills.

Each year, our Student Councillors lead several fundraising initiatives, with a focus on supporting charitable organisations that help those less fortunate. One of the causes we’ve been proud to support over recent years is the Solar Buddy Project—in partnership with the CPS Sustainability Team.

Solar Buddies are sustainable, portable solar lights distributed to children living in energy poverty around the world. These lights allow children to study safely after dark, significantly improving their educational opportunities. It's a powerful way for our students to learn how innovative, sustainable design can create real change.

To help cover the cost of these lights, our Year 6 Student Councillors organised a Free Dress Day today—what a fantastic effort raising over $500! Congratulations to the team for their dedication to supporting this important cause.

Next Friday, 23 May, we will celebrate P&C Day, recognising the incredible staff and parent volunteers who help make CPS such a strong and connected community.

It’s a special time to acknowledge those who dedicate their time and energy to supporting our students—particularly in promoting healthy eating and wellbeing initiatives. We hope you can join us at next Friday’s assembly as we give thanks and celebrate our amazing team.

Just a friendly reminder that our Kindergarten enrolments for 2026 are now open! Full details are available on our school webpage. We understand that some families new to the community may be unfamiliar with the Kindy enrolment process, so if you know anyone who might benefit from this information, please pass it on. Additional details can also be found on the Department of Education's website.

Thank you for your continued support in helping our school thrive.
