Dear JPS Community,
What a big week it has been at Jamberoo Public School as we approach the end of the year. Next week is by far our biggest!
Reports
At the end of last week, staff finalised their Semester Two reports at principal level. Student reports will be distributed electronically to families next week.
SEP and 2026 Focus Areas
On Wednesday, our executive team engaged in our School Excellence Plan planning day. This important work enabled us to complete outstanding items for 2025 and begin shaping our whole-school priorities for 2026. Next year, our focus will be on explicit teaching, strengthened HPAG opportunities within classrooms and a commitment to differentiated learning to support every student’s growth.
Executive staff also completed their final PDP meetings for the year, reflecting on their leadership, achievements and contributions throughout 2025.
2025 Leaders
On Thursday, we celebrated our 2025 student leaders with a special hot chippie lunch in the library. SRC members, Captains and Vice-Captains, Technology Team members, Library Monitors and House Captains joined Mrs Green for a well-deserved thank you for the dedication, enthusiasm and service they have shown our school community throughout the year. Their leadership has been thoughtful, dependable and deeply appreciated.
Presentation Day
Today, we held our Presentation Day Assembly, led by Mrs Behl-Shanks. It was a positive and uplifting morning where we paused to celebrate learning, achievement and growth across our school community. We congratulated our Year 6 students for their accomplishments across their seven years of primary school, acknowledged our Kindergarten students as they marked their first year of schooling and thanked our 2025 Captains and Vice-Captains. We also proudly inducted our 2026 student leaders and celebrated academic achievement and citizenship across K–6, with several special Stage 3 awards presented. It was a fitting way to bring our community together as we near the close of the year.
Thank you to every family member who attended this morning. We also extend our appreciation to the kind parents and staff who assisted in clearing drains during and after the assembly, following the heavy rain and minor flooding.
P&C 2026 Funding Support
The P&C has generously offered to provide the same level of financial support in 2026 as it did in 2025. This funding will enable us to continue offering Music and Indonesian with Mrs McCormack for one day each week across two terms, maintain Drama with Mrs Behl-Shanks and purchase class sets of instruments to further strengthen our music program.
This year, we trialled a more structured music approach. In 2026, we aim to find the ideal balance between expressive and creative musical experiences and explicit instruction, supported by Mrs McCormack’s expertise. Our Dharawal language program has also been an important feature this year, and we will again seek student voice in 2026 to determine whether it continues into 2027.
