Staffing
Last week we welcomed Claire Fisher to our Learning Support Team. Claire’s experience has been in various roles such as an integration aide and most recently inclusion support assistant. We wish Claire all the best as she settles into Fatima.
In Semester 2, we welcome back Aley Allen to our teaching team. Aley will jump back into the STEM (Science, technology, Engineering and Mathematics) specialist role with our Year 3-6 students. We are looking forward to having Aley’s energy and drive in our community again.
Principal Conference
Yesterday I departed with the Peninsula Principals Network, embarking on a rich professional learning experience in the Northern Territory. This journey aims to provide us with an invaluable opportunity to deepen our own personal understanding of our First Nations People, their unique culture, and their enduring traditions. Immersing ourselves in the rich heritage and diverse practices of Indigenous communities, we aim to gain a profound appreciation of their history, knowledge, and perspectives. I look forward to sharing this learning with staff and students next term and am grateful to Gill Carr who has stepped into the role of Acting Principal for the remainder of the term.
As the term draws to a close, a reminder of the following key dates:
Friday 28 June: Last day of Term 2, finishing at 1pm.
- Tuesday 16 July: First day of Term 3. Please note that Monday 15 July is a School Closure Day and professional learning for staff.
Go well and have a wonderful half year break!
Sarah McDermott
Principal 🙂
