Dear Parents and Caregivers,
High School Open Night
We will hold our High School Open Night next Thursday, the 22nd August, from 4.00-6.00pm at the STM Campus. This is a great opportunity for our high school students to showcase their learning. Please come along and see some of the great work they have been doing. Primary parents and students, particularly our year 6 students are welcome to attend. Parents will be escorted up to the STM Campus if needed from our school campus.
Thanks to the high school teachers for organising the displays and to the students who will be presenting and sharing their learning.
Exam Preparation
The countdown is on towards National Exams and our Year 10 and Year 8 students have their regular Saturday morning exam prep at STM campus again this Saturday morning. We acknowledge the work that both students and teachers are putting in to prepare for the exams.
Swimming Carnivals
On Thursday of week 8, there will a junior mini-swimming carnival held during the school day and a carnival for years 3-10 commencing in the late afternoon. Further information about both swimming carnivals will be communicated to parents next week.
Attendance
Attendance at school is very important. Children need to be at school on time every day to succeed in their learning. We have seen some unnecessary absenteeism and lateness, particularly in the high school. If a child is absent, parents / carers need to email the class teacher or send a note on return to the school.
Independence Day.
This year the school will celebrate Independence Day on the last day of school for term 3 – September 12. There will be some special activities to celebrate the day, we will share these closer to the date.
