BIRTHDAY ICE-BLOCKS | If you are bringing in ice-blocks to celebrate your child's birthday, please ensure they are FULLY FROZEN prior to the day. This will avoid disappointment when handed out. Additionally, please do not bring in ice-cream packs, as we have a number of students with allergies.

Restricted social networking platforms for students | From Day 1 Term 4, students will no longer be able to use their school email address (@education.nsw.gov.au) to access social media, gaming, instant messaging and similar platforms. This means they will also not be able to retrive password-recovery emails and the like from these platforms.
Please share with your child as required...updating social media account emails
The NSW Department of Education is making an important change to help keep our students safe online, reduce the risk of cyber threats and make sure your child's student email accounts are used for their intended educational purposes only.
Whatâs happening
Starting Day 1 Term 4, students won't be able to use their student email address to sign up for, or recover access to any social media, gaming, instant messaging or similar accounts.
What needs to be done
If your child has signed up for a social media, gaming, instant messaging or similar account using their student email address, please change to a personal email address on each platform by Sunday 13 October to make sure they don't lose access to the account. Hereâs how:
Log in to each account.Go to the account settings and update your email address to a personal one. Add a mobile number too, if you havenât already. Why this is happening
The department is making this change to ensure all student accounts are being used for their educational purposes, and to help protect them from risks online. Using a personal email address for these platforms instead of their student email address reduces the chances of someone gaining access to information in their school account.

SOME OF OUR STORIES ARE SAVED AS HIGHLIGHTS...
During the past week, an upbeat energy has wafted between the walls of 5/6R. But what is this excitement all about? As we all know that the art show is coming up, our class has been working dedicatedly on our individual and combined artworks. What are we working on? For our individual pieces we had come up with the idea of making trees out of old music sheets. Being extremely keen on the plan, we had to pivot when the designs didn't turn out as expected. Instead, we adopted a suggestion from one of our year 6's - Ren Chen. We decided to create a lotus flower print by making indentations on foam, rolling it over with black ink and finally transferring it onto coloured paper. We were even more enthusiastic about our new idea. How about our collective artwork? Sewing, painting, cutting, drawing, pasting, but most of all we unleash the depths of our creativity. With mountainside landscape pictures, we are emphasising the benefits of a calmer and a more connected environment. Just two artworks come together conveying a thousand messages. Touching a hundred souls. Done with thirty different views, with a combined effort. But there are only 29 students in 5/6R, why 30? A secret helper has entered our class, the one and only Teddy, a proud Aussie Tasmanian Devil toy. He has offered a helping hand to us with all our schoolwork but his interest has been piqued at art. We are deeply grateful to have him! To sum our experience up, one can speak for all of us. This time has been an utter blast. Written by: Zerene D Published by: Alice M
1/2L have been busy this term, with all the fun, fantastic things happening in our school! Our investigations projects have blown Miss Lydon away with fascination! We will have a new robot student in our class soon, designed by some clever crafties! Everyone has thoroughly enjoyed the preparation time for our much anticipated art show! 1/2L's class project shows the thought, creativity and magic of the imagination, as each mushroom shows a flair of the children's personality! Special thanks to Liv's Mum, Chrissie, and Ines' mum, Shona, for their special help with the project. Writing has taken an inspiring direction as the children have loved creating mythical creatures from fantastical creatures and real-life animals! We even explored some Greek myths such as: Theseus and the Minotaur and the Story of Medusa, to determine the magical and mythical concepts involved in these stories. There are some passionate poets in our midst also as we have explored lots of poems, such as shape poems and cinquains! We have been smiling through similes! The writing process has been very enjoyable as we have completed partner poems and independent poems, which has stretched our ideas and vocabulary even further! 1/2L have been reaping the benefits of Zing! Gymnastics and Wellbeing. We have been learning some more emotional regulation remedies and some practices to help our breaths when we feel our tummies bubbling! Thanks for reading! 1/2L đ
