Final Week of school

Next week is Week 10, Term 4 is almost upon us. We have all been battling sickness and I for one cannot wait until the warmer weather hits us and gets rid of this nasty flu season. Don't forget we have our final assembly for the term next Friday, the 26th of September. We look forward to seeing what our talented Year One class will have to perform for us.

2026 Planning

The St Mary's Leadership and Admin team are already in the planning stages for 2026. In preparation for this we would appreciate if any families that know that they will not be continuing their education journey with us next year if they could please notify the office at: admin@stmarysmerredin.wa.edu.au

Thank you for you co-operation with this matter.

School Review

The classrooms are orderly and engaging with student work on display.

Special Events

Interschool Athletics Carnival

Our schools sporting talent was on full display last Friday at the Interschool Athletics Carnival. It was great to see the student’s determination, perseverance and sportsmanship shine through during the events. It was a close one in the end with it coming down to the final events, unfortunately we fell just short of a strong Merredin College team.

1st Merredin College - 813 points

2nd - St Marys -  783 points

Congratulations to the following students who performed exceptionally well in their age categories.

Junior Boy Runner-up - Henry Smith

Junior Girl Champion - Stella Sharp

Intermediate Girl Runner Up - Sienna Anderson

Intermediate Girls Champion - Ava Webb

Senior Boy Champion - Jobe Walker

Thank you to Merredin College for hosting the day, and to all the wonderful parent helpers who assisted on the day. And of course, to all the spectators who cheered us on all day!

Learning Journey's

Our Tuesday afternoon we opened our classrooms to our families for our second Learning Journey experience. This was a wonderful opportunity for families to witness their child’s learning journey throughout the year. They were invited to play games with their children and/or explore their classroom activities and work. It was wonderful to see so many family members throughout the classrooms engaging with their children and catching up on all the fantastic work they have been completing this year. Thank you to everyone that came along.

Musica Viva

On Wednesday the Kindy to Year Six students were treated to a unique combination of the physical theatrical performance and accompanying sound when the team from Musica

Viva visited the school. Acrobat Gareth Bjaaland (Timmy)and musicians Rachel Johnston and Trent Arkleysmith bought character schoolboy Timmy to life to show students how music can influence their mood and actions. Timmy is a perfectly normal schoolboy. But inside, he hears music in his head – all the time! The performance was an energetic pairing of circus and music, which the children were mesmerised by and reports were that there were plenty of giggles from staff and students from Timmy's bottom burps
