Reflection

God of love, show us our place in this world as channels of your love for all the creatures of this earth, for not one of them is forgotten in your sight. Enlighten those who possess power and money that they may avoid the sin of indifference, that they may love the common good, advance the weak, and care for this world in which we live. The poor and the earth are crying out. O Lord, seize us with your power and light, help us to protect all life, to prepare for a better future, for the coming of your Kingdom of justice, peace, love and beauty. Praise be to you! Amen.

Greg's Message

Our students performed admirably at the North Balwyn District athletics carnival last Monday. The students' behaviour and teamwork was exemplary.; they were fantastic ambassadors for our school. We have three athletes who have made it through to Division on October 11. Good luck and congratulations to Eli G for coming first in the 9/10 year old discus and second in the shot put.  Eli has qualified for Division in both events. Angus G came first in the 9/10 year old hurdles, and Jessica V won the 9/10 year old long jump. I congratulate Angus and Jessica on qualifying for Division. Other notable performers were Lucas T (4th in 9/10 year old discus) and Sylvia O’M (5th in 9/10 year old hurdles).  It was great to see a number of  parents in attendance supporting the squad. Finally, I thank Josh Cassell, Tara Smith, Sarah Parker and Thelma Andrade for their strong involvement on the day.

And yes….the concert is looming large! We look forward to a highly entertaining evening this Monday at Our Lady of Mercy College, Heidelberg. All students need to be at OLMC at 6:30pm, with the action beginning at 7pm.

MACSSIS SURVEYS

All families have received an email regarding participation in the MACS School Improvement Surveys. Thank you to the families who have already responded. I encourage all families to complete the survey. The final date for the survey is September 15.
