Kindergarten 2026 Enrolments

Give your child the best start by enrolling them in kindergarten for 2026. Our kindergarten program offers a warm, supportive environment where your child can grow, learn, and build important social and academic skills. With caring teachers and fun, engaging activities designed to inspire curiosity and confidence, kindergarten is the perfect place for your child to begin their school journey. Enrol now for 2026 and help your child take the first step towards a bright and successful future. Remember to come to the office to collect your enrolment shirt!

GWS Women's Team Visit

On Tuesday, the Giants AFL Women’s squad visited and ran some exciting drills and skills sessions. A big thank you to Mrs Arnott for organising this free event for our students!

Morning Drop-Off Reminder

A reminder that the earliest drop-off time for students is 8:30 am, as there are no teachers on duty before this time. If you need to drop your child off earlier, before-school care is available through Ermington West OOSH. For the safety and supervision of all students, please ensure your child is not dropped off before 8:30 am.

Swim Program

Our students have been thoroughly enjoying the school swim program over the past two weeks. They have been developing water safety skills, building confidence in the pool, and learning a range of swimming techniques such as floating, kicking, and stroke development. The program has been a wonderful opportunity for students to stay active, gain important life skills and have fun together.

PSSA Results

Juniors won 7-4 against Dundas

Seniors lost 6-4 against Parramatta East.

Well done to both our teams on a successful season in PSSA League Tag. I thoroughly enjoyed training the students and taking them to compete against other local schools each week. Throughout the two terms all students improved their individual league tag skills and worked well together as a team, and were able to represent our school with Pride. Congratulations to our Juniors who are the Premiers for a second year in a row and to our senior team who placed fourth overall!

If families are looking for some free friendly programs during the holidays please view the advertisements towards the end of the newsletter for further information. Have a wonderful and safe spring holiday and I look forward to seeing students and parents on Tuesday 14th October which is when school resumes for our students.

Regards,

Warren Yee.

K-2 Assistant Principal Updates

Zing Dance

K-2 students have been having so much fun taking part in the zing dance program! They’ve been learning new dance routines while also developing their coordination, rhythm and confidence. It’s been wonderful to see the energy and enthusiasm they bring to each session.

Writing Work Samples

We are so proud of our Year 1 and Year 2 students for their fantastic effort in writing persuasive texts. Using the book Don’t Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus as inspiration, the students worked hard to convince their readers with arguments and reasons. Their creativity and persuasive skills have really shone through, and we are excited to share some of their wonderful writing with you.

Learning about Mass in 1/2S

This week in 1/2S, we’ve been learning all about mass! Students have been busy comparing, estimating, and measuring the weight of different classroom objects using balance scales and informal units like blocks and counters.

Kindergarten 2026 Orientation

A reminder that kindergarten orientation is coming up soon for any new siblings starting next year. If you have a child beginning kindergarten and have not yet completed their enrolment, please contact the school office as soon as possible. Please see the below flyer and SAVE THE DATE!

3-6 Assistant Principal Updates

Camp is less than 3 weeks away!

Camp is now less than three weeks away, and our Year 4, 5 and 6 students are counting down the days! This week has been full of excitement, with students receiving important camp information and even choosing the friends they’d like to share accommodation with.

A camp note went home yesterday with details about bus times and a packing list. Please check this carefully to make sure your child is ready for three days of adventure, teamwork, and fun at The Great Aussie Bush Camp in Kincumber.

The students (and teachers!) are looking forward to new challenges, building independence, and creating memories that will last a lifetime.

Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL)

PBL Rewards Day

We are excited to share some wonderful news , last week our whole school filled up the PBL token jar! To celebrate this achievement, we will be holding a PBL Rewards Day.

After voting, our K–6 students chose Jersey Day as the reward. This Friday, students are invited to wear their favourite team jersey or shirt to school.

Please remember that regular sport shoes are still required for school sport and the swim program will run as usual.

To ensure you can easily recognise the call, please save these numbers in your mobile phone under the name Rydalmere Public School.

Change of Contact Information

If any of your contact details have changed, including phone numbers, please let us know via the school App Audiri by selecting Forms > Change of Details, or by emailing the administration office at rydalmere-p.school@det.nsw.edu.au.

Keeping your contact information up to date ensures we can reach you when necessary.

Lost Property

At Rydalmere Public School, our PBL expectations of being Safe, Respectful Learners encourage students to take responsibility for their personal belongings, including jumpers, hats, lunchboxes, and drink bottles.

To help us return lost items, please ensure all your child’s belongings are clearly labelled. Any unclaimed items will be donated to the P&C Uniform Shop at the end of each term.

RPS Preschool Expression of Interest for 2026 – Now Open

General Guidelines

Public preschools offer enrolment for one year only, in the year before children start Kindergarten. Children are eligible to enrol from the beginning of the school year if they turn four years old on or before 31 July of that year.

For more information, please visit: Enrolment in a public preschool (nsw.gov.au)

Our office staff are happy to assist with any questions or to guide you through the enrolment process.

Lost Property

Throughout the term, we’ve had several non-school uniform items brought to school and left in lost property without names. Students have been given the opportunity to collect these items, and the remaining unclaimed clothing will now be donated to charity — as you can see, we are sending three bags this time.

To help us return items in the future, please ensure that all clothing — both school and non-school uniform — is clearly labelled with your child’s name.

P&C Report

Hello and greetings from the P&C. This is our last newsletter announcement for Term 3. We hope that you all have relaxing school holidays, and we will see you in Term 4!
