Term 2 - Week 7 (5th, June 2026)

Faction Cross Country

Once again, Mrs Crees held a fantastic Cross Country Carnival yesterday. We had a great turnout of parents watching as the children (after weeks of preparation) worked hard pacing themselves around the track. Thank you to Mrs Crees, the staff and all the volunteers for making the morning so successful.

P&F Meeting

Our second meeting is in the Library Monday evening at 7pm. All parents are welcome to attend either in person or online.

Next Friday

We have a busy day next Friday. We have the Feast of Sacred Heart Mass at 9am led by the Year 4/5 class and we wish the Interschool Cross country team all the best as they travel to Bruce Rock to compete.

Confirmation

We make particular mention of Mac and Kai from Year 6 who celebrate their Confirmation at the 10.30am Mass next Sunday, 14 June. It would be lovely to see as many people from the school community attend Mass and lend their support to both boys on their special day.

Special Events Ministry Fundraiser

Our Special Events Ministry will be conducting a weekly fundraiser to support Telethon, starting next Friday the 12th of June. Each Friday they will have a "Take a Guess" competition, where you can take a guess of the numbers of objects in the jar. There will be a different guessing item each week and a different prize every week for the winner.  We look forward to your support and to seeing how much we can raise for Telethon!!

Students Reports Update

The School Curriculum and Standards Authority (SCSA) is the Government body responsible for Education in Australia. They have indicated that Catholic Schools must report in the same way that Government Schools have been reporting. This means that in the upcoming Semester One Report, there will be one overall grade given to your child per subject. The Report will also now contain one large comment that will hold a Religion, English, Maths and General comment within. If you have any questions surrounding these changes, please don’t hesitate to call me.

Faction Cross Country

Our annual Faction Cross Country Carnival was a fantastic success, with perfect weather conditions setting the scene for an exciting day of competition. Faction spirit was at an all-time high, and it was wonderful to see so many smiles, displays of camaraderie, and encouragement throughout the event.

Every student gave their very best effort, demonstrating determination, resilience, and sportsmanship as they tackled the course. The hard work students have been putting into their morning fitness sessions and Run Club was clearly evident in their performances, with many students showing excellent endurance, determination, and improvement. The atmosphere was made even more special by the outstanding commentary from our Year 6 students, whose enthusiasm and energy kept competitors and spectators engaged throughout the day.

The competition was incredibly close, with all factions battling hard for points. Congratulations to Salvatorians, who emerged victorious with 388 points. St Joseph's finished in second place with 326 points, while MacKillop was a close third with 318 points.

Win Big. Give Back. Help Build Westonia’s Playground.

Westonia is a small town based in the heart of the wheatbelt, built on mining, young and old farming families and people from all walks of life. This little country town is full of community spirit. In recent years, we have seen a big growth in young children and babies in our shire. Whether they've grown up here or are new to our town, we want to do our best to support them. One way we can do that is by providing a safe area for them to come together with friends and family to play, grow and learn.

We’re holding this fundraiser to help raise funds and support our vision of a brand-new playground that will help our children thrive. For just $100 you could be in the chance to win a brand new 2026 Hilux SR as first prize and a brand new 2026 Polaris Ranger 1000 Premium as second prize.
