Sporting News

This week we have had students participate in the Newcastle City Zone PSSA rep trials for netball (Violet B and Olivia B) and touch football (Jack R, Braxton D, Benji W and Hollie A). Congratulations to Olivia B who was successfully selected to play in the Newcastle City netball team  Hollie A who was successful in being selected in the Newcastle City Girls Touch football team. Both students will now play in the Newcastle City team to trial for the Hunter regional team. We would also like to wish Eva T good luck for next week as she heads to Sydney to participate in the State Swimming Championships!

Student lunches

Recently we have had an increasing number of studnets presenting to the Office with no lunch and/or both lunch and recess. If lunch has been ordered online from the Canteen, please ensure that the order is processed before 9:00 am, the correct date is entered and that a confirmation message is received.

If lunch is prepared at home please ensure that it is packed into your child's bag. The office has emergency supplies to provide to students who have not been provided with food however our supplies are limited.

Opportunity Class Placement - Year 5 2025

Applications open 4 April and close 20 May 2024 for Opportunity Class Placemen Year 5 2025.

What are opportunity classes?

Opportunity classes are one of the ways the NSW Department of Education supports high potential and gifted students. Most students in opportunity classes enjoy learning with peers who have similar abilities and interests.

The nearest Opportunity Classes to Lambton Public School include New Lambton South PS, Tighes Hill PS & Maryland PS.

Students successfully placed attend the opportunity class full time in Years 5 and 6 and in most cases, students who have accepted a place in an opportunity class will leave their current school to attend the school with the opportunity class.
