Eastlakes Edition

Term 2 Week 3

Acknowledgement to Country

Students, teachers and parents of Eastlakes Public School, pay respects and acknowledge the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, past, present and future who have the first connection to this land.

We are thankful for the Gadigal and Kameygal clans for taking care of the land, sky and waterways on which we learn and play today.

Together we will rise to the challenge and be respectful and responsible to care for our country.

Always was, always will be Aboriginal land

From the Principal

I would like to extend a big thank you to our P&C for organising a fantastic Mother’s Day Breakfast. Their hard work and dedication to supporting our school and families is truly appreciated. It was wonderful to see so many mums and children come together to celebrate this special occasion. Have a look at some beautiful photos of our mums and their kids on our Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/EastlakesPS

This term, Stage 3 students have begun their DanceSport lessons and are enthusiastically learning new dance steps. It’s great to see many students showcasing their talent and enjoying the experience. Dancing is not only fun but also a wonderful way to stay fit and healthy.

In addition, our Kindergarten to Year 2 students kicked off the “Got Game” program today. They are developing essential athletics skills such as running, hopping, jumping, throwing, catching, and balance. These fundamental movement skills play a vital role in promoting health and fitness from an early age.

In the next couple of weeks, parent-teacher conference bookings will open, providing parents and carers with the opportunity to schedule a time to meet with their child’s teacher at the end of this term.

Additionally, the Jump Off Day for the Heart Foundation is approaching. Students have been enthusiastically practicing with skipping ropes during lunch and recess, and more information will be shared soon.

Thank you all for your ongoing support, and I look forward to sharing more exciting updates in the coming weeks.

To all the mums in our whole school community, I wish you all a very happy Mother's Day!
