St Mary's Bulletin

Term 2 - Week 1 (2nd May, 2025)

Welcome Back

I hope everyone had a fantastic holiday break and managed to spend some great, quality family time together over the two weeks.

Berry Street Professional Development Day

On Monday the staff had our final Trauma Informed workshop at school. For those not aware, Berry Street uses trauma informed practices designed to engage children who have trouble regulating their emotions. Whilst the techniques are specific to children who come from trauma, they are also excellent habits for well-regulated students to learn and put into daily practice.

ANZAC Day

It was wonderful to see Mackenzie and Willow’s grandparents attend our ANZAC Day Service once again. We especially thank their Grandfather for his Service to our country. I would like to thank Mrs Riethmuller for organising the service, Mrs Discenza for making the wreath and our Special Events Ministry for leading the morning’s proceedings.

Cummins Theatre Excursion

Students from PP – Year 6 will be attending ‘You are a Doughnut’ at 10.00am on Tuesday, 6 May, at Cummins Theatre.

‘You are a Doughnut ‘ explores the ins and outs of the human digestive system.

The students will walk to and from the theatre.

Mother's Day Mass, Morning Tea & Raffle

Next Friday the 9th of May we will be holding our Mother’s Day Mass and Morning Tea. All mums, grandmums, GREAT grandmums and Aunts are welcome to attend and have morning tea with the children on the grass.

Our Mother's Day Raffle will also be drawn on this day. Please see our flyer below for all the details and the link to buy tickets. Thank you to all our wonderful businesses and families who have donated prizes for the raffle!!

P&F Contributions

Special thanks to our P&F committee who purchased new digital clocks/timers for each class. They are a fantastic teaching aid!

School Review

The School review has been completed a report sent. In the coming weeks I will attach the report to the newsletter after it has been reviewed by the CSAC. But each week in the newsletter I will place a direct quote from the CEWA panel. This breaks it down into bite sized pieces which may be easier to digest! Our first piece of feedback follows….

The QCESR panel was impressed with what was observed in classes and with the positive feedback received from staff, students and parents. These data sources highlighted the good learning that is taking place in the classroom.”

God Bless
