Principal’s Report

Welcome back, Mansfield Primary School!

I hope everyone enjoyed a wonderful break and had the chance to recharge the batteries, enjoy some sunshine and spend time with family and friends. There is something special about returning to school in spring, with the warmer weather, longer days and the feeling that there is plenty to look forward to!

Term 4 has arrived, and as always, it promises to be a busy, exciting and rewarding time at Mansfield Primary School. It is hard to believe we are already heading into the final term of the year. Where has 2026 gone?

Making every moment count

Term 4 is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate just how far our students have come this year. There will be plenty of learning, laughter, challenges, new discoveries and opportunities to shine. It is also a time to reflect on the progress our students have made, both academically and personally.

At Mansfield Primary School, we want every child to feel known, valued and supported. We want our students to be curious learners, kind friends and confident young people who are willing to give things a go, even when they feel a little tricky. Sometimes, the biggest achievements are not the ones that appear on a report card, but the moments when a child shows persistence, includes someone who needs a friend, has another go after getting something wrong or discovers that they can do something they once thought was impossible.

These are the moments that matter, and I look forward to seeing many more of them throughout the term.

A big thank you to our wonderful community

One of the things I value most about Mansfield Primary School is the community that surrounds it. A great school is built on strong partnerships between students, staff and families, and I am incredibly grateful for the support, care and commitment shown by our community.

Our staff work tirelessly to create engaging learning experiences, support the individual needs of our students and make school a place where children feel safe, happy and ready to learn. From the classroom learning to the many extra things that happen behind the scenes, there is so much work that goes into making each school day a success.

To our families, thank you for the role you play in supporting your children and our school. Your encouragement, involvement and partnership make a real difference. And to our students, thank you for bringing your personalities, questions, ideas, energy and occasional wonderfully unexpected comments to school each day. You certainly keep us on our toes!

Looking ahead

There is plenty to look forward to this term as we continue learning, growing and making the most of the opportunities that come our way. Term 4 can sometimes feel like a race to the finish line, but I encourage everyone to take a breath, enjoy the journey and make the most of the time we have together.

For our older students, particularly our Grade 6 students, this term will be an important one as they prepare for their next chapter. There is plenty to celebrate as they reflect on their primary school years and get ready for the exciting transition to secondary school. We want them to finish their time at Mansfield Primary School feeling proud of how far they have come and confident about what lies ahead.

For all our students, this is a chance to keep challenging ourselves, showing kindness, building friendships and making memories. Let's finish the year with enthusiasm, a positive attitude and a healthy dose of fun!

A little reminder for Term 4

As the weather warms up, please remember hats, drink bottles and sunscreen. We want our students to enjoy being active, playing with friends and making the most of our outdoor spaces while staying sun safe.

It is also a busy time of year for families, so keeping an eye on school communications and helping students maintain their routines will make a big difference as the term progresses.

Most importantly, let's continue to look after one another. A smile, a kind word, a helping hand or a little bit of patience can go a long way in making our school a wonderful place to be.

Let's finish the year strong!

I am looking forward to another fantastic term at Mansfield Primary School. There will undoubtedly be busy days, plenty of excitement, some tired faces as the year draws to a close and many moments that remind us why working in a school community is so special.

Let's make Term 4 a term full of learning, laughter, kindness and achievement. Let's celebrate the little wins, encourage one another through the challenges and make sure every student has the opportunity to finish the year feeling proud.

Welcome back, everyone. Let's make it a great one!

Warm regards,

Nicole Salmon
