The “New” Library

A big shoutout and thank you to all who have helped in making my vision a reality. The library has, not only moved, but has been remodelled with grateful thanks to our special contributors. The large front facing shelves were given to the school by Frank and Moya Livingstone, Mansfield Newsagency, in memory of Frank’s father who was a deputy principal at MPS in the 1960s. The storage of these large pieces of furniture was possible by the kind offer of Cameron McCann who stored them for four months. Ray and Kevin, our two special groundsmen, then had the task to relocate all of the library furniture early this term. The popular ‘train’ needed restoration work which was completed by the Mansfield Mens Shed. The students are delighted to see it back. The beautiful colourful boxes, now used in non- fiction, were purchased using Scholastic credits from the 2024 Book Fair. Thank you to all those families who supported the Book Fair. Thanks also to Allie Colyer for assisting in the making of library bags for the Year 3 students. This is the second year when children will be given a library bag for their borrowing. Moving boxes of books, reshelving of resources and relabelling takes considerable time but for the tireless effort of Narelle Stevenson. Without her help this task would not have been achieved.

Now happy reading everyone.
