Principals Message

Thank you to everyone in the Plattsburg school community who showed up for the Father's Day Breakfast. We appreciate your attendance, and it was good to see people come together for the event. Your support helps keep these gatherings going, and we're glad you could be there. We look forward to seeing you at future events.

Thank you to the Plattsburg students and community for your support in reinforcing the full school uniform policy. Your commitment to upholding this standard is crucial in maintaining a sense of unity and pride within our school. We appreciate your cooperation and effort in making sure everyone is on board, and we're confident that this collective approach will continue to benefit our whole school community.

We want to extend our thanks to our School Learning Support Officers (SLSOs) for the outstanding work they do every day. During your recognition week, we especially want to acknowledge the vital role you play in supporting our students and contributing to a positive learning environment. Your dedication, patience, and commitment do not go unnoticed, and we are incredibly grateful for everything you do to make our school a better place for everyone.

We would like to express our sincere thanks to the entire Plattsburg community for your cooperation and support during the recent changes to our afternoon pick-up routine. We understand that adjustments can be challenging, but your commitment to following the new procedures has been crucial in ensuring a smoother and safer process for everyone involved.

Your efforts in adapting to these changes have made a significant difference in keeping our students safe. We appreciate your understanding and willingness to prioritise the well-being of our kids, and we are confident that, together, we can continue to create a secure and positive environment for all. The principal is responsible for the educational leadership and overall management of our school. If you wish to speak with the principal, please contact the office via phone 49559196 or email Plattsburg-p.school@det.nsw.edu.au to schedule an appointment. 

For general inquiries or assistance, our school administrative staff are available to help. They can answer your questions or direct you to the appropriate staff member. 

If you need to make an appointment with your child’s teacher please ring the front office and leave a name, contact number and the name of the teacher you would like to see. These details will be passed to the teacher to set an appointment time.

Please understand that schools are a busy place and please allow that up to 72 hours for a response.

Attention all Plattsburg Parents and Carers,

Unfortunately, we have had many concerning reports of anti-social behaviour at the Active Hub at Federal Park after school. We have been in contact with the local police for support with these matters. We want our school and community to keep enjoying the fabulous

facility. As a school we don’t have a teacher on park duty, and we are strongly advising that your children are adequately supervised whenever at the park. There is no supervision in the park, and it is not a safe place to be without adult supervision.

To ensure that all our Plattsburg students get home safely, we are making a few changes to our afternoon pick-up process:

- If a parent or guardian is not at Federal Park to pick up their child, the student will wait

inside Gate 3 (near the crossing) under the supervision of our staff until their parent or guardian arrives.

- Students who walk or ride home need to head directly home from school. We kindly ask that they do not stay at the park.

As a reminder, our Kiss and Ride option is available at Gate 2. This service is designed to make pick-up smoother for families, and everyone is welcome to register and use it in the afternoons.

Our Plattsburg Students attended and performed at the 150th Wallsend Celebrations. Well done to all students and a big thank you to Miss Kyara, Miss Tjarnah and Uncle Alex for organising this and being there with them.
