Reynella Primary School Grapevine

Term 4, Week 2 | 2024

From the Leadership Team

Welcome to Term 4

Welcome to Term 4

It's wonderful to be back as principal and I look forward to continuing to be part of the Reynella Primary School community into 2025. As we begin Term 4, it’s important to remember that, while this term is packed with excitement, we should stay grounded and make strong, thoughtful decisions as we approach the end of the school year.

Chief Executive Visit

This week, we had the honour of hosting the Chief Executive for the Department of Education, Mr. Martin Westwell, who visited our school on Tuesday. Members of the Communication Action Team had the responsibility of escorting Mr. Westwell on a tour of the school. They spoke so incredibly well about Reynella Primary School, sharing what makes our school special and how we approach learning. They should be extremely proud of how they represented the school.

Mr. Westwell also spent time in a number of classrooms, engaging with students about their learning. He made particular mention about how well our students could articulate their thinking and how effectively they work together in groups. This is a testament to the collaborative ethos that has been built at Reynella and we should be proud of both our students and staff for their hard work.

Sports Day

We are eagerly anticipating Sports Day next Thursday, 31st October, which is shaping up to be a fun and action-packed event! To ensure everyone enjoys the day safely, we remind all students that wearing their school hat is mandatory throughout the day for sun protection.

We kindly ask that children apply sunscreen at home before coming to school and encourage them to bring their own sunscreen for reapplication during break times. While sunscreen will be available to all classes, if your child has allergies to a specific brand, please make sure they bring their own to avoid any issues.

We look forward to a fantastic day of energy, teamwork, and school spirit

Class Placements for 2025

As we begin planning for 2025, I’d like to remind you of the class placement process mentioned in the previous Grapevine. If you wish to provide input, please collect a form from the Front Office and return it by Friday, 1st November. Alternatively, the Audiri eForm is now available for online submissions.

We kindly ask that parents refrain from requesting specific teachers or friendship groups unless you feel it is necessary for your child’s learning. While we will carefully consider all requests, we cannot guarantee they will be fulfilled and appreciate your trust in this process.

Looking forward to a successful and engaging Term 4

Volunteers Needed

Our canteen staff would love to speak to any parents or grandparents who would like to consider volunteering.

Jillian (Canteen Manager) and her team are happy to answer any questions you might have and discuss options for days and times you are available to volunteer.

We are very flexible with times: if you can only volunteer for 1 day a fortnight or month, that would be a big help to assist our staff to prepare food for our hungry students.

We have a LOT of idea's to make our Run4Fun even bigger and better this year. The number of volunteers we get 'on the day' and for the 'lead up' determines how much we can do. If you'd like to be involved in anyway, please contact Kay.

We need help at many times of the day and night for all fundraiser and are very flexible with times:

  • during school, after school, in the evening
  • 1/2 hour, an hour, a few hours, a whole day.

There is no obligation to help when we ask for help on the Fundraising Helpers List, if you can't help, just reply with 'I'm unavailable this time'.
