Principal's News

Dear Families

This week, I acknowledge any of our families' Year 12 students finishing their secondary education, their dedication and hard work in completing their formal schooling - what a milestone and achievement!

KEY INFORMATION AND UPDATES:

OSHC - Outside School Hours Care

I wish to inform you that Camp Australia has recently informed us that they have decided to stop operating OSHC at Fatima beyond December 2024. I wish to take this opportunity to thank Camp Australia for the service they have provided us over the last few years.

With this opportunity, we will be transferring to Melbourne Archdiocese Catholic Schools Early Years Education (MACSEYE) from Term 1, 2025. MACSEYE is an approved registered provider, setting a high standard of quality in line with the National Quality Standard. They focus on the development of the whole child, so they can have the best start in their lifelong learning journey. Their programs are designed to foster a sense of identity, health and wellbeing. We look forward to this new service being available to our families. More information will become available to us all regarding this transfer.

Child Safety and OHS

As part of our Child Safety and OHS practices, all parents, carers and visitors must report to the Office during school hours for all matters. Learning time commences at 8.55am and from this time all queries, drop offs or forgotten school items etc are to be attended to at the Office. Thanks for your support in ensuring that child safety practices and learning is a priority at Fatima.

Father John Paul

On Sunday 10 November, the Parish are holding a celebration for Father John Paul after 9am Mass in our School Hall. All are welcome!

Swimming and Water Safety Education

From Monday 18 to Friday 29 November (Week 7 and 8), all students from Prep to Year 6 participate in our School Swimming Program. Swimming is part of the Health and Physical Education Victorian Curriculum and all students are expected to participate.

From 2017, the Victorian Curriculum has required swimming and water safety education to be taught as part of the Health and Physical Education learning area. By the end of Year 6, it is anticipated that students should be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills identified in the Victorian Water Safety Certificate.

Our winning teams are: 3rd place - Team 3 [39 points]   2nd place - Team 2 [42 points]  and 1st place - Team 7 [46 points]. Team 7, please pop by to see Mrs Carr for your prize! We look forward to hosting more fun-filled learning afternoons in the future.
