Principal's Report

Hello everybody and welcome back to Term 4!

I hope you all found time to rest and recharge over the break and everyone is ready to jump straight into a busy and exciting term 4! With a taste of beautiful sunshine, it is important that I remind everyone that hats will be required this term, I’m writing this as rain pours down the window behind me!

It has been a busy two weeks here at school with a number of important bushfire preparedness tasks being completed. We have had gutters and drains cleared of debris and we are currently getting all trees and bushes that are close to the school buildings trimmed and pruned. We are having works done to our basketball court and the replacement of hot water services being completed over the next few weeks.

We are halfway through the final week of our swimming program being held at the Gisborne Swimming Pool. The students are all learning vital life saving swimming and water safety skills and are looking forward to Friday’s session where they get to spend time on the blow-up obstacle course!

Just a reminder that we will be holding a Working Bee next Wednesday the 11th of October here at school. There will be jobs listed on a whiteboard at the front of the school. You can also come and sign up for particular jobs before the day and complete them in your own time if you’re unable to make it next Wednesday. FOS will also be holding a sausage sizzle on the day for all the hard-working helpers!

If you have purchased a copy of the Production film you will be receiving the download link from today. If you are yet to purchase of copy of the Production film you can do so via QKR!

It is great to get back onsite and hear about all of the adventures the students have had over the break, I hope that this energy and enthusiasm continues into what will be a super exciting term!

While Trish is offsite we endeavour to maintain the regular goings on of the school so if you have any questions or concerns please do not hesitate to come and see me.

Thanks,

Joe.

From the Office

Welcome back everyone!

I has been lovely hearing all the stories of fun the fun times students have had over the break.  Term 4 started off lovely and sunny, however, today feels like we are back in to Winter!

WORLD TEACHERS DAY - October 27th

Envelopes have gone home with students today with a slip of paper to write a nice note to teaching staff in celebration of World Teachers Day.  We will present these to staff on the day.  It's a small gesture to acknowledge the hard work and effort our teachers put in every day.  There is a box at reception to place the notes.

YOGA & JUI JITSU

Yoga and Jui Jitsu will start back up next week.

Consent and payment is required to be completed on Qkr! prior to commencement.

We are assuming everyone that signed up for these activities in Term 3 will be continuing this term also.  If you have any questions, please contact the office asap.

There are still spaces available for Yoga, however, Jui Jitsu is fully booked for both days.

WORKING BEE - Wednesday 11th October

We are hoping for sunshine next Wednesday.....cross your fingers and toes!  A list of jobs to be completed will be up shortly.

PRODUCTION DVD

The link has been emailed today out to those that purchased via Qkr!

That's' all folks!

GRADE 3/4 Passion Project (Inquiry)

Last term, the students in Grade 3/4 commenced their Passion Projects. As the term came to an end, students were able to present their achievements to an audience consisting of their parents and classmates. This project enabled each student in the class a chance to explore an ‘Expression of Art’ that interested them. The final products covered art disciplines such as Dance, Fashion Design, Music (both acoustic and computerised/digital), the Culinary Arts, Painting with Lego, Stop Motion Video, Sketching, Painting, Performance and Origami.

Her are some photos of their incredible achievements!!
