We would like to acknowledge and pay our respects to the Kaurna people, the traditional custodians whose ancestral lands we gather on. We acknowledge the deep feelings of attachment and relationship of the Kaurna people to country and we respect and value their past, present and ongoing connection to the land and cultural beliefs.
Dear Families,
I am really pleased to advise of our teaching staff and room locations for 2026. As you can see, we have some small fractions of time to be confirmed. I am confident that we will have some updates for individual classes before the end of the year.
Specialist Teachers
Staff farewells
At this time of year, we bid farewell to staff members who will not be returning to Hallett Cove East Primary School next year. Firstly, we would like to acknowledge Mariea Burgess, who will be leaving us to take up a Year 5/6 teaching position at McLaren Vale Primary School. We also farewell Emma Belshaw, who will be moving on to a teaching position at Sheidow Park Primary School in 2026.
Both Mariea and Emma have been terrific members of our school community who have made a significant impact on students and families alike. They will both be greatly missed. We are sincerely grateful for their contributions, and we wish them every success in their new roles.
We also say farewell to some of our hardworking SSOs in Annabel, Aimee and Abbey. Thank you for your contributions to the Hallett Cove East Primary School community.
2026 Class Placements
You would’ve received your child’s class placement for 2026 during the week. Thank you for trusting the process that we have been through to allocate students to classes. Our teachers and leaders have put in huge amounts of thought and consideration to come up with the best possible placement for individual and groups of students. Your support is a crucial part of your child’s success as they look forward to building a positive connection with their new teacher and class for 2026.
Farewell to our graduating Year 6 students
As we farewell our graduating Year 6 students, we reflect with pride on their journey at Hallett Cove East Primary School. Throughout their time here, they have displayed resilience, kindness, leadership, school values and a strong sense of community. We congratulate all students on reaching this important milestone and wish them every success as they move on to secondary school. Hopefully, you carry with you, the friendships, memories, and values gained at Hallett Cove East, and continue to strive for excellence in you do. Congratulations, Year 6! Social Media Ban
No doubt, you would’ve seen the media coverage of Australia’s Social Media Ban for children. From 10 December 2025, social media platforms will be required to take reasonable steps to prevent Australians under 16 from creating or keeping an account.
Further to the Premier’s letter to families this week, information for families from the eSafety Commissioner’s website includes helpful guidance, such as:
And finally...
I would like to take this opportunity to wish everyone a safe and happy holiday period. Thank you for your support of Hallett Cove East Primary School and for playing your part in helping our community to thrive in 2025. Following our break, we look forward to welcoming everyone back to school on Tuesday 28th January 2026.

Dear Hallett Cove East Primary School Community,
As we reach the end of another busy year at Hallett Cove East Primary School, I am delighted to look back and celebrate all that we have achieved together in 2025. Our school has continued to grow as a vibrant, supportive, and innovative learning community, where every student is valued and encouraged to succeed.
Our school concert last week was a standout highlight. It was wonderful to see our community come together to celebrate our students and their learning. The energy, smiles and sense of togetherness on the night were something very special. A huge thank you to our concert committee for their organisation and creativity, but an especially big thank you to Ms Stanfield for her leadership, coordination and the countless hours she invested to bring it all together so beautifully.
Throughout the year, our students have shown growth, resilience and enthusiasm in their learning. Our staff have continued to demonstrate care and commitment every day. We are proud of the achievements across all classes and of the positive learning culture that continues to strengthen at our school.
Students spent Wednesday morning with their 2026 class teacher as part of our transition program. This is an important opportunity to support a smooth and confident start to the new school year. We encourage you to support your child as they transition into their new class in 2026 by fostering a positive outlook and discussing the upcoming change in an encouraging way. It is helpful to talk about what to expect, listen to any worries, and reassure their child that it is normal to feel nervous. Staying in close contact with the new teacher and working together to address any concerns early on will also support a smooth and confident transition for your child.
Thank you once again for your support and for contributing to such a successful year. We wish all families a safe, restful and joyful holiday break, and we look forward to welcoming everyone back in 2026.
Kind regards,
Robyn Physick
Deputy Principal
As we wrap up another school year, our Student Wellbeing Leaders have been especially busy. I would like to acknowledge and thank them for their outstanding contributions to our school during their final year of primary school.
Last week, they delivered small gift packs to local businesses as a way of showing appreciation for the service they provide to our community. They have also continued to support Breakfast Club throughout the year—arriving early to school to help make toast and greet students with a smile.
A heartfelt thank you also goes to the generous volunteers from the Seeds Uniting Church in Hallett Cove, who provided delicious pancakes and fresh fruit for our special end-of-term Breakfast Club days. We truly value their ongoing support. Breakfast Club will resume in 2026, and we will let families know the restart date early next year.
As we head into the holidays, we wish all families a safe and restful break. To our Year 6 students-congratulations on completing your primary schooling! We wish you all the very best as you begin your high school journey.
To our new students joining us in 2026, we look forward to welcoming you to our community. And to everyone returning next year, we can’t wait to see you again.
Warmest wishes,
Katrina Leucuta

Volunteers are important to our school community. Our canteen relies on help from volunteers to deliver a meal service to our pupils.
To enable us to provide a varied recess and lunch menu offer to our pupils we really do need your help.
If you have a spare hour or more we would welcome your support.
Not registered with the school as a volunteer? Volunteer application packs are available from the front office containing all the information you need to submit your registration as a volunteer...... WE NEED YOU
The shop is stocked with a variety of second hand uniform items. The money raised is given back to the school and utilised in fundraising projects.
Remember that if you have any unused uniform items in good clean condition, we'd love to receive them. They can be left at the office anytime. Thank you.
