Dear Jamberoo Public School Community,
Athletics Coaching
Due to the kindness and generosity of the school’s P&C, the school has engaged Mr Ian Hatfield to provide all Jamberoo students with athletics training. Yesterday the students participated in high jump activities and drills. The athletics training sessions will continue on Wednesdays for the next two weeks, please find a timetable below:
7 th June - Long jump
14th June - Shot put
It is a perfect lead in for all of our students to the athletics carnival which will be held on Wednesday 21st June.
School Bytes Portal
We are excited to announce our school is transitioning to an upgraded School Bytes Administration and Finance system.
What is the School Bytes portal?
School Bytes provides a parent portal to help your school communicate with you and complete administrative tasks.
Your school may use the parent portal for various things, including online permission notes, attendance, and payments, which can be accessed via a secure link. The School Bytes parent portal enables you to view all your children in one portal and process payments for multiple siblings in one transaction.
What do you need to do to be ready for 2023?
Parent Portal: Set up your parent portal account (if you don’t already have one).
Please note that Kiama High School currently already use this system so you may already have an account if you have students at the high school.
IMPORTANT: To ensure that the registration process works smoothly, and you can link your account to your child, make sure that you use the same email address that you have provided to the school or if using a different email address, an SMS verification code will be sent to the mobile number on record for you at the school.
How do I access School Bytes?
Open the parent portal link https://portal.schoolbytes.education/auth/login
Please also find detailed steps to create an account on the link below.

Student Attendance
Parent Responsibilities:
• ensure that their child attends school at all times when the school is open for instruction and your child is well enough to attend school (see School Education Act, 1999)
• ensure that their child is on time for school each day – before 9:00am
• notify the school of their child’s absence as soon as possible on the first day of the child’s absence
• notify the school in advance if an absence of any period is planned
• ensure that contact details for the child are correct and up to date.
Winter
Winter is here. Although we are getting some nice sunny and clear days, the mornings and afternoons are quite cool. This means students are taking jumpers on and off and leaving them while they play. Please make sure names are on all items of clothing so they can be returned. A reminder that different coloured jumpers are not acceptable and are not a part of the school uniform.
Reports
Teachers are in the process of analysing student assessment data in preparation to commence the writing of student reports. Reports will be sent home to families on the last day of school, Friday 30th June. There will be no three-way conferences this term, as they were conducted in Term One. If you wish to speak to your child’s teacher about their progress, please don’t hesitate to contact your child’s teacher(s) to make an appointment.
Outside School Hours Care (OSHC)
The school is pleased to announce that Peak Sports and Learning has been selected to run the OSHC service at Jamberoo Public School. We expect that the provider will commence operation in the next few weeks, depending on service approval. The school will inform the Jamberoo community once we are provided with an official start date.
Regards,
Mr Chris Speirs
